What type of thing do you need (e.g. Scratch or Art) (you can find all of our services here): Scratch
Describe what you need created: An AOL 4.0 internet dial-up modem emulator
Deadline (please use dd/mm/yyyy): Whenever you can finish it
Do you need a specialist to complete your order: idk maybe
Have you read section 1 of the Terms and Conditions: yes
Are you following the discussion: yes
Additional notes: coronavirus should leave this earth
P.S.:you may not know what this is. ask someone who lived through the 90s internet era.
BUMPING THIS UP AGAIN, SEEMS NO ONE HAS NOTICED IT.
This order is most likely too hard for us to complete because of a unanimous response. Please do not be impatient when you make impractically difficult-to-take orders. However, I'm pretty sure you can turn off your internet, which should simulate dial-up well enough. You may not be able to access many modern websites that expect an internet connection (like Scratch), but it's a good trade-off if you're looking for an “authentic 90s internet experience.” Section 1.2 of the Terms and Conditions states that you should not expect us to do things that are too high-tech, so please keep this rule in mind when typing more impossible orders.

While 1.2 in the TaC is valid this may not be all that hard. If he explains a little further maybe it is just a moving dial.

Also shouldn't we bump up the penalty for missing an active check. I mean 1 strike is kinda light especially when you implement the one week period to respond and the un-striking rule. People can be non-existent for 6 months or something before they get kicked.

But if someone went on a holiday (for example) on short notice and got given 3 strikes as a consequence, that isn't very fair, maybe every activity check you miss adds a point and the amount of points you have is how much you are striked.
e.g.
miss 1 activity check - 1 point 1 strike
miss 2 activity checks - 2 points 3 strikes
miss 3 activity checks - 3 points 6 strikes
(ect)

Okay but you can only host Activity check every what three weeks. If we make it so that you miss two in a row than you get kicked. Plus the un-striking rule got implementable so people can just take away that strike. And also the should just take a leave for the month or however long the want anyways.

what I mean is if someone suddenly has to go on holiday (maybe in the form of a surprise) and doesn't have time to notify LC?

Yeah but they can always wipe away the strike. So if they miss an activity check but respond to the next they shouldn't keep the points. If they miss the second activity check they should get kicked because you have five weeks to respond

What I want is basically an emulator that starts out with the connecting screen,
then loads up a 90s style browser, which could easily get pages using encoded cloud variables that hold the page data. When a page is requested, it would just decode and parse the cloud data into text that would make up the requested webpage.

That seems rather complex.

maybe we could tie unstriking to completing orders?

Right… this was a tough decision but I decided I had to.

Why do you wish to resign (optional if it's a personal reason): School has started and I am in too many shops.
If it's a mistake on our side, how do you think we can improvise (optional): it wasn’t a mistake on your side, but maybe you could spell ‘improve’ right. no offence
Have you read section 2.4 of the Terms and Conditions: Yes.
Are you really sure you wish to resign (think about it): Yes.
Are you really, really sure you wish to resign (double-think about it): Yes.
Perfectly sure? (triple-think about it): Yes.
Additional notes: Ye- oh sorry
Anyway - I will miss you guys and this shop, but with school starting back up and all, I just have too many things that I have to do.
I might join back in the future though.

It'd basically be a cloud list-operated internet browser.
