Have USB controllers added to extensions
(#1825)We know what blocks we are using - they are in the OP. We just need people to help code them and make the PR
Are you guys trying to figure out the blocks to put in the code, or are y'all in the process of submitting the PR right now? I'm a bit confused on which page we're on

support, because the other controller extensions (LEGO, micro:bit, etc.) are used…. let me calculate…
a grand total of ZERO TIMES!!!!
jokes aside, this would make many games very cool, like a “Nintendo Game In Scratch” being more realistic due to actually using a controller.

I actually use the micro:bit a lot. To make things like Guitar Hero. i've just had an idea… never mind. It would be more realistic, though. And, you could have more fun. In some games you can end up in weird hand postions because of weird controls. support, because the other controller extensions (LEGO, micro:bit, etc.) are used…. let me calculate…

I need to press P and click at the same time, but I also need to hold down 1 and I… OW.Yeah, you're right. (quick note, not being mean, but people have been doing this a lot now: don't reply to posts from more than 10 pages ago.)

Yeah, not a lot of people use the lego extensions, micro:bit, like you were saying, makey makey, etc. Scratch should take the time to put in functions that the most part of people will use (like controller extensions) instead of making a function that will be forgotten by the community quickly after its release.I actually use the micro:bit a lot. And the Lego Mindstorms EV3 isn't sold anymore! Like, they should have taken down the extension by now! jeez…

I didn't know they stopped selling Mindstorms EV3. I guess it makes sense to keep it for owners and some projects would be broken.Yeah, not a lot of people use the lego extensions, micro:bit, like you were saying, makey makey, etc. Scratch should take the time to put in functions that the most part of people will use (like controller extensions) instead of making a function that will be forgotten by the community quickly after its release.I actually use the micro:bit a lot. I mean, a lot of the scratch community consists of little kids learning how to code, so it makes sense that they would put in extensions that are appealing to little kids. And, while I completely understand the purpose of these extensions, there are also teens (like myself) and adults who use Scratch who would like an idea of our own added, so they should listen to the community and implement something that us big kids want too. I mean, this thread has been going for almost 6 years (that's a long time, wow!) and still no response from the ST about our thread, except a few snips from the moderators.
ST, if you are reading this, PLEASE consider making a statement on whether or not you guys will implement this, so we can figure out whether or not we need to continue this thread. We are a small community of folks who are passionate about this idea, and this thread has over 1800 posts (that's a lot for a forum thread!) of us communicating back and forth about how to go forward and little extra mini-ideas we came up with in our spare time. You guys are the only ones who have the power to implement this function into your program, and we have been patiently waiting for almost 6 years for a response that gives us an idea on what the future of our idea will be. So PLEASE make a post on how it's all gonna go down.
Your friend,

P.S. wasn't trying to sound rude, if it sounded that way i'm sorry

no response from the ST about our thread, except a few snips from the moderators.I feel like if they do plan to implement controller support, they'll stay quiet until they've got it nearly done. If they went
Hey, we're adding controller support! And then all the controller makers say “no, we don't want that” then the community would be very sad. Instead they'd probably announce it after all that. So who knows, we might have already convinced them, but they haven't made it public.

I put a comment on Paddle2See's project asking if he knows anything. He might not answer, but it was worth a shot.
