Creators for [}--()-Something About Splatoon 3-()--{] The Terminal Montageyist Animation on Scratch!
For anyone interested in helping make Something About Splatoon 3, this is the studio we plan everything in!
I'm Feris Silvern, author and head director of this project. And for anyone who is not familiar, the “Something About” series is an animated game playthrough series created by a man named Jeremy Chinshue, otherwise known as Terminal Montage. His animations are fast, full of references from games and show, and lots of fun, especially for younger audiences!
This project is a spoof of his spoofs. Jeremy has covered a lot of popular, fun games in his “Something About” series, but Splatoon is not one of them. This project is intended to bring a similar styled animation for Splatoon.
Of course, we need your help to make this a reality. I have a lot of the plan in my head, but I'll need a lot of help with references, Splatoon knowledge, outside and inside jokes, and other jobs such as backup animators and artists. If you're interested, feel free to join!

Here's the script so far:
Splatoon 3 Title cutscene, similar to all Terminal Montages.
Then, the hot sun burns in the sky as we gaze out from under a rock canyon. A plane twirls across the sky before we hear “Kaboom!”
A hooded figure sits down on the rock ground as we play some memefied version of the opening music. “Choose your Character!” or whatever it says. The girl Inkling takes off her mask and shades, and some meme about finally being able to see is added. Either that, or we just have a long cutscene of her looking at al the surroundings, awestruck.
Then, New Agent 3, your character, needs a hairstyle. We hear the player (@FunnyAnimatorJimTV) say hat the main character needs a haircut. She's shocked, and a pair of floating scissors slices off her left tentacle. Sharkyshar scream. Then, Little Buddy waddles along, sees the floating scissors, takes them, and cuts his hair in Elvis shape. “I know'd I made a good choice!” he remarks.
Then, they start their journey. 3 walks casually over to the chest in the middle of nowhere. Just as she approaches, the ghosts of her parents appear to her over the chest.
“M-mom? Dad??” She asks.
“Daughter…” The father says, “We are so proud of the young squid you have grow up into.”
“It is now time for you to go out into the real world.” Her Mother adds.
“B-b-but Mom! I'm only 14! I-I'm not ready to go out by mysel-”
“Listen to me!” Her mother tells her, “You are ready. You're an adult now. Take good care of Little Buddy!”
“Mom… Dad…”
“We want you to have this” her father says as he ghost-opens the chest and ghost-floats up the Splattershot Jr. “Use it wisely” he adds, as it flies towards her face and knocks her back, meanwhile the gamertags get stuck in Little Buddy's beak. “Remember who you are!” clip from Lion King as they disappear.
She looks at the gun, not quite sure how to use it, and still a little sad about what just happened. “Kachang!” Little Buddy says. NA3 sighs. “You're right, Little Buddy, we better get moving.”
Now, I don't remember the exact happenings in their order at this point of the intro, but two major events happen in it. One, NA3 (New Agent 3) reaches a wall. But not knowing how to use a gun, she is stumped on how to get past. Then she sneezes, and then the wall is covered with ink. She looks at it for a moment, touches it with her finger, squishes it a bit, and then swims up the wall.
The second event, she walks onto the Octo Den, where all of the Octorians are. At first, they try to attack her, but she either sneezes or Little Buddy acts unnervingly, and the Octarians all run away.
Finally, they arrive at the train station. The train takes forever. When it does inally get here, NA3 walks in with Little Buddy. Inside, Little Buddy looks around, out the window, at the other passengers, and finally at the microphone right next to him. He slowly lifts his fin towards it, and grabs it to sing the “Route 66” song, which makes the train go craaazzzy fast and everyone panics.
And that's all for Part 1! Hope you liked it!

I’ll just spitball some of my ideas here related to Pt.1, I’ll try to stay within the scenes you’ve already got for now. I might have some better ideas once we get farther into it.
Maybe the reason she sneezes so much is because she’s allergic to the fuzz? Like sometimes when time fuzz shows up she sneezes (Which would explain why she does upon seeing the Octarians. Maybe the first time a little fuzzy thing pops up on screen (Could be a good time to include an easter egg)
Also Little Buddy eats the fuzz so should he like… Eat some Octarians or something?
The tutorial has a balloon section, maybe we have Little Buddy on top of a balloon floating away, and Agent 3 gasps and shoots him down. (Or in the backround after the mother says “Take Good care of Little Buddy”, he could be floating away.)
The chest is a good opportunity for a Zelda reference
Should Little Buddy comment on how the reward for defeating Octarian is Power Eggs? (Salmon Eggs…) Like in the Octo Den, some of the Octarians get Splatted and the Power Eggs go into Agent 3’s Bag/ Are just there on the ground and Little Buddy is like “What…?”
I know you already have the ending pretty much planned out, but the Lion King reference reminds me of how I always think of The Circle of Life when Little Buddy flies into 3’s hands during the Final Boss.
Maybe during the chat with Agent 3’s parents, the music should change to some version of the “You’re a kid, you’re a squid” song, in reference to her father saying “You’re an adult now.”
The bus is a very good place to include Easter Eggs and references. Maybe Commander Tartar’s head in the bagging space, One of the Cuttlefish Idols on the bus or a poster of them. Maybe a Jellyfish extending their arm and poking Agent 3, Maybe a bird or some other character (Could be Cuttlefish or Beika maybe) hits the window and slowly slips down.
Maybe we could have a Chia pet joke for the fuzzy Octos or Agent 3 getting fuzzballed.
If we do a “Welcome to Splatsville” part, I think we should have just plain chaos going on in the background while the narrator goes on about how great Splatsville is, Like people miserable in th heat, maybe something catching on fire, Deep Cut or some other people doing some shady stuff in a dark corner.
And I’m gonna try to come up with some ideas for visual stuff later for when we start storyboarding.

I never thought of why she was sneezing before. That would explain an episode of intense sneezes!
Also Little Buddy eats the fuzz so should he like… Eat some Octarians or something?
Actually, yes! Though I planned him t mainly eat the fuzz of of things. That will come in more later because, I'm not sure if it's still the case, but there's a glitch in the Alternia levels where entering a level and immediately exiting said level gives you 999999999 eggs. Which means that Little Buddy can to crazy with any amount of fuzz.
The tutorial has a balloon section, maybe we have Little Buddy on top of a balloon floating away, and Agent 3 gasps and shoots him down. (Or in the backround after the mother says “Take Good care of Little Buddy”, he could be floating away.)
The balloon idea sounds fun! Though NA3 can't use the gun because she doesn't know how. Maybe she catches the balloon before it floats away and then it pops at some point?
The chest is a good opportunity for a Zelda reference

Well, whatever Little Buddy says has to be something our good friend Larry the Cable Guy has said for his lines. Well, for Mater's lines, at least. But that would make sense.
I know you already have the ending pretty much planned out, but the Lion King reference reminds me of how I always think of The Circle of Life when Little Buddy flies into 3’s hands during the Final Boss.
Actually, the ending isn't well planned out. I originally planned for Bill Grizz to slap Little Buddy into space or have a Kirbo-Green Mario appearance, but that would definitely work!
Maybe during the chat with Agent 3’s parents, the music should change to some version of the “You’re a kid, you’re a squid” song, in reference to her father saying “You’re an adult now.”
Maybe briefly, though I was thinking an emotional moment for that part, since NA3's long missing parents have given her a final goodbye, and now she's an adult at age 14 and… Or is she a squadult?
The bus is a very good place to include Easter Eggs and references. Maybe Commander Tartar’s head in the bagging space, One of the Cuttlefish Idols on the bus or a poster of them. The bus is definitely a good place to add references. I;d think some Splatoon Manga references, since they're the only major offshoot of the Splatoon universe that is widely known.

I do know that AGent 3 getting fuzzballed doesn't make a lot of sense. The Octolings are fuzzy, yet not completely covered in fuzz like NA3 does. Perhaps if she did touch it, Little Buddy would get a bucket of water or something and try to wash it off. And maybe we could have the Octarians look like Chia pets.

That EXACTLY what I was thinking! NA3 comes into town and the narrator is explaining how great a place this is. But there's probably a bunch of hate and propaganda graffiti (Kid safe, obviously), and as a reference to one of the Sunken Scrolls, Marigold has a shady criminal past. I planned to have the narrator talk, while behind her Marigold tries to steal a kid's wallet. But just before she can reach the wallet, she pulls out a giant hydrasplattling and splats him, takes the wallet, and points towards the guy next to her.
Also, I think it's hilarious that the narrator STILL calls out Cuttlefish as a shady figure in the corner, of which she advises you not to go, when literal backhanded Pokemon card playing and Salmon poaching is openly encouraged.
And I’m gonna try to come up with some ideas for visual stuff later for when we start storyboarding.
Sounds like a great idea! The storyboard will basically look like a simplified version of the final animation. I'm already to the part where NA3 starts walking.

Ooh and also the Mario Sunshine music could play during the big man bossfight (if you include it)

Hehe I have a lot of random ideas, thx!
Ooh and also the Mario Sunshine music could play during the big man bossfight (if you include it)
ooh also (these ideas just keep coming to me lol) when NA3 enters the Frye bossfight there could be like overlapping translucent cuts of 3, 4, and 8 looking toward NA3 and nodding
The Big Man one is a good idea! I didn't have any ideas for his fight, but that is something to work off of!
As for the Frye bossfight, I planned to have her spin around the Octostomp as it spun around before she crashed through a wall. But that idea might come in very handy somewhere else!
