Use an online zip converter to convert your texture pack into a zip file. Press and hold on the zip file in the Files app an select the “Quick look” option. From there press “Preview content” and “Open in Minecraft” to import your texture pack, if that's what you're trying to do.

After writing I realised I misread this. Just update Minecraft and disable any enabled texture packs.

You do now I think, however, I started playing when you had to buy them separately, I went with Bedrock since that's the version all of my friends were playing at the time, and obvious bit incoming there's no cross-edition multiplayer. Funny, when they started bundling the two versions together, I was suddenly able to launch JE, just as soon as I got an actual Java runtime on there.
