What is AspectOS?
AspectOS is a mockup operating system created on Scratch. The point of this OS is to have features of an actual OS, like a task manager, a file system, and other things that act like Windows or macOS.

When was AspectOS Created?
AspectOS BETA 1 was created on June 1, 2021, by AIGamesDeveloper when he was doing AspectOS solo. This was before any team existed for AspectOS. Originally, AspectOS was created to get into a collaboration

Will AspectOS have multiple languages?
Sadly, AspectOS will only have one language due to production shortage and because we want to add things with a higher priority

AspectOS Contributors
AspectOS's goal is to make sure we create a friendly community and a terrific OS. But we can't do this with a single person. Instead, we have composed an entire team of contributors to help with the AspectOS project and to make it better than ever!

Contributor Rules (Regular Contributors)

Regular Contributors are contributors with no ability to make huge changes to this operating system. They work on tasks and share them with their fellow contributors.

Activity is key when working on AspectOS. We want people who are committed to making this OS and who are taking the time to work on tasks for AspectOS at least every day. Because of this, we have activity checks every two weeks on Friday at a random hour and they have to respond within two days (until Sunday). If they respond, then they stay in AspectOS. If they don't, then the managers will remove them from AspectOS

Don't frequently spam or derail the thread. We accept some off-topic posts every once in a while but not frequently. We are working on an operating system, not talking like it's a chatroom. We only allow some off-topic posts per day so contributors don't think that the collaboration is boring. We try our best to make the operating system collab interesting and we are trying to find new tasks.

We require a specific amount of forum posts. We want people who are applying to have at least 50 posts. We ask for this as proof that you know how the forums work and the rules for each thread (mostly Collaboration). We also ask for the project count as well. We want to see that you have posted at least 5 projects within the last year of your being on Scratch. We will also check your profile to see your studios, your comments, and other information. We will then put it into our secret page of descriptions so that communication can be more relatable. We will not use this information against you and will only be kept for informational purposes. If we think that you are perfect for AspectOS, we will also go over some other things and determine whether or not you should be accepted.

Don't steal tasks. If someone already took a task, don't think you can make the task as well. This has been added as a rule since October of 2021 and we are planning on keeping this rule for a while. If someone takes your task, let @AIGamesDeveloper know by contacting him on his profile. He will take action for stealing tasks. Please just do another task if a task you want is already being worked on. It's not that big of a deal.

Follow the Community Guidelines. Scratch has many rules and we stand with those rules. The CGs apply to all of Scratch and we are no exception. If you are going to join, you must follow the Scratch Community Guidelines. We will be checking your profile to see if there are any CG violations. If there are multiple, then your application may be declined.

Don't sabotage. Please do not sabotage this collaboration. This is punishable and we will block you from AspectOS if you were to do so. When you join, please respect everybody and follow the rules that are set by the BoD. If you think the rules are unfair, please show us in a formal way and not by sabotaging us. Just writing some paragraphs is okay for us to change some things.

External Softwares are things we use to make AspectOS. They can range from coding software to art software. We use a lot of external software and it is necessary to sign up for external software if you want to create neat results for tasks. Insert ‘freeze’ somewhere in your application. If you do not have access to external software, then that is fine. You can continue on Scratch. The external software we will be using is GitHub, Glitch, Figma, Trello, Vercel, Miraheze, and Webflow. These are completely optional but recommended if you want to interact with our contributors more.

We have the right to remove you from the collaboration for a logical reason. If you think you have been removed unfairly by the BoD, let @AIGamesDeveloper know and he will decide if your removal was for a logical reason.

We have the right to block you from AspectOS if you do something really bad. The shortest amount of time for a block is 3 days, and the longest amount of time for a block is 1 year. When you become blocked, you lose access to external software and you can only work on AspectOS on Scratch. You cannot access GitHub, Figma, or other external software. If you think that you have been blocked unfairly by the BoD, let @AIGamesDeveloper know and he will determine if it is a false block or not.

We have the right to ban you from AspectOS if you do something catastrophic. The shortest amount of time for a ban is 2 weeks, and the longest amount of time for a ban is 100 years, also known as a perma-ban. When you become banned, you are removed from the collaboration, and you are blocked from all of our external software. Please insert the word ‘company’ in your application since that is the real word to enter AspectOS. Don't make it obvious. All your tasks will be untaken and you will be removed from all of our studios, forum threads, and more. If you think that you have been banned unfairly, you can fill out an appeal on @AIGamesDeveloper's profile and he will determine if it was a false ban.

Blocks and Bans don't apply to the Wiki unless it was something severe and/or AIGamesDeveloper says so. The Wiki has a different form (coming soon)

If you just skipped to the end, just note that we will be doing things to check if you are eligible for AspectOS and you won't have any clue of what we will be being, so it is recommended to read those rules if you haven't. If you get rejected, there is no cooldown for joining AspectOS.
