I saw the first post. I believe that we have made our position on this question very clear. If we haven't, I apologize. When is the demo coming out?
We have not posted in a long time, and I'm trying to get us into a state where at least a glimmer of progress is seen. I can't say when the demo will be out, and I don't want to disappoint everyone with a release date we can't keep, nor create a release date that is too far ahead of what we can do. So there is no release date at this point.

Look I actually want to help you. Have you tried ditching the fakemon? Also I recommend creating an 8 bit version. This is because the tiles are so easy to use. I have created a gameboy - new bark town incredibly easily. If you used pokepedia11's engine you could get a game out in a year easily. Only though if you just kept it simple.I saw the first post. A little demo picture showing the complexity of the picture given. As one can see it is new bark town (In my Pokémon ranger game there is 8 gyms which are roughly 15 mins apart). So around the seventh gym you go ‘back’ to Johto and it is all retro-y. The engine works OK but very well on scratch 3. After you go back to Johto (unfinished and only a few towns) you visit cinnabar island in Kanto. You meet the final gym leader and then you face the elite four. So far 7/9 of the game is done.

Ditching the fakemon puts us as easy pickings for Nintendo. Since we're doing this for free without making profits, we can argue fair use. If we use fakemon, our argument will be pretty resilient. If we don't, then they could most likely argue that it's just a cheap ripoff.Look I actually want to help you. Have you tried ditching the fakemon? Also I recommend creating an 8 bit version. but does it? Nintendo isn't out to get scratch. If this were a real game out in the market where people could see, and we were giving it out for free nintendo would have an issue. I apologize for the long quote. I think I've made my statements on fakemon and copyright clear. We will be using new and old Pokémon, but with entirely new assets. We, as far as I know, are not at risk of being sued. If legal issues do occur, our content may be removed from Scratch, but it won't be a true loss because we will have learned something about games and someone, somewhere, somehow will have enjoyed our work.but does it? Regarding your engine, we would be glad to use it should we be certain we have its creator's consent and it fits our needs.

I'm kinda concerned that you want to use existing franchise Pokemon, which is risky. We really only have to have 150 or so to be fine, and that's doable. We have, what, 40? Give ones with nonexistent lines evolutionary lines (maybe except for the legendaries) and add a few more, and we'll make do. Bump

Who are the artist here? Who are the coders? Who are the musicans?
If I was leader I would start getting tilesets out using @pokepedia11 (with my simplification method) engines.
I understand that you don't want to copy art so just make your own but you need to speed up! because you have taken ages!

Exploring the cultural effects of old Pokémon in this new region is interesting. Furthermore, I've never liked the idea of a new Generation not using old Pokémon. Using previous Pokémon was always my intention with this game. And until I am shown a successful lawsuit against a fangame made on Scratch, I am not changing this decision.
Still, feel that it is very important to be as original as we can. We will create and use Fakémon, and nothing will change that.

We have no obligation to speed up, and will move at whatever pace we feel is right. We have artists, coders, and musicians. If pokepedia comes here and says we can use their engine, we probably will. However, I cannot emphasize enough that we will move at whatever pace we can, and no faster. Who are the artist here? Who are the coders? Who are the musicans?

No, they first direct emailed Scratch and got it resolved that way.
