Have USB controllers added to extensions
It was happening over the course of more than a day though, is that normal? Plus, which error would you get with that bug? Since if it gives you a 403 error on Chrome and a blank page on Firefox, that's not the error I got, and that's normal since the topic is briefly dustbinned I think. (I need an autocorrect)We are quite close to 100 pages. Why won't the Scratch Team add it already? It's so useful! Because it makes games more… game-y! (reference to a post from the first 40 pages)Because the Scratch Team is working on other stuff. It takes time to add in new features. It's practically the exact same link, just from a different place.I was going into the topic from “Messages”, not “New Posts”, so it's another problem. Plus, I could get into other topics. That's not this specific topic. That's a random thing that happens when you try to view new posts in a topic (when you specifically press the “New Posts” button).
According to post #1950, this problem occurs when the newest post in a topic has been dustbinned (the topic itself has not been dustbinned, just the post)

It's pretty normal. It happens to me a lot.It was happening over the course of more than a day though, is that normal? Plus, which error would you get with that bug? Also, I'm not sure what error you get because I don't remember. It's probably a 403 (at least on Chrome, never used Firefox before).
Also, we should probably move this conversation to a profile (mine or yours), as it's off-topic.

99 pages is crazy, even so, I bet scratch would decline this, their only reasong probably being it's too hard or too time consuming for their workers, which I half understand and agree

We can move this to mine: although if a post is dustbinned, the entire topic is moved to the dustbin I think, and that'd give you a 403. (#1965)The Scratch Team has specifically not rejected it when asked about it. I think what's going on is they are keeping silent until they know they are absolutely sure it works and is able to be added. If this thing gets into Scratch Labe then they don't add it for whatever reason at the end of it, people are going to be very mad. It's just a waiting game at this point.

I guess, they don't really have an argument, like no one needs the makey makey extension but its there for those who want to use it(#1965)The Scratch Team has specifically not rejected it when asked about it. I haven't seen a Makey Makey in my life, but the Makey Makey extension also works with a keyboard. I guess, they don't really have an argument, like no one needs the makey makey extension but its there for those who want to use it

wait, then cant you just map your controller to your keyboard, and then add makey makey? It would require an outside of scratch extension most likely, but could workI haven't seen a Makey Makey in my life, but the Makey Makey extension also works with a keyboard. Makey Makey doesn't actually do much. you could use key pressed blocks just as easily. Plus, we want this to work entirely in Scratch, no outside extensions.wait, then cant you just map your controller to your keyboard, and then add makey makey? (#1970)Makey Makey can't do analog or rumble.wait, then cant you just map your controller to your keyboard, and then add makey makey? (#1968)This is actually a good point! If they made an extension for a niche device that only a fraction of Scratchers own, why not add USB gamepads which are much more popular and widely available? (by comparison)

After testing, I can confirm you can map an snes controller to your keyboard. The extension was a bit dodgy, and my computer takes longer to load now, but hey, trust the process right?(#1970)Makey Makey can't do analog or rumble.wait, then cant you just map your controller to your keyboard, and then add makey makey? FAQ:
Q: why not use joytokey or other controller remapping programs?
A: these programs don't run on all devices, you often have to pay for them, and it doesn't support proper analog movement.

Keyboards can't simulate analog input, that's the problem.

I mean, a mouse could be used, but it would be horrible. Keyboards can't simulate analog input, that's the problem.

Most scratchers have a computer, but way less than 90%, and enough to be worth having mobile support; probably around 40% or something. You can also use controllers for mobile and computer games. Should you be able to report makes makey projects because most people can’t play?As sonic_fan said, people normally have or borrow a computer. Mobile isn't very useful on Scratch if you want to code, but is commonly used, and mobile only games can be played on a computer.. (Then again, mobile controls are useful, except for when you accidentally click) Not everyone has a controller.(#1900)what if the project is wasd/arrows-only? no one´s reporting that, so why should controller-only/no controller support be reportable???Then they use a computer. and not everyone has a phoneThen they use a phone. If you're using Scratch, you have either a phone or a computer. not everyone has a computer

I think it's safely more than 75%, especially considering Scratch only had mobile support for 4 years now. All the schools have computers, most households in developed nations have one, more so than a tablet. probably around 40% or something
Let's stop taking Makey Makey as an example, all its features are accessible with a keyboard. Should you be able to report makes makey projects because most people can’t play?
However, the other existing hardware extensions use hardware primarily as a means of output, and you could easily simulate what the robot is doing. Controller? Not so much. Imagine trying to adapt a 2000-block, controller-only game to work with a keyboard and mouse. Analog input and gyroscopes can't be replicated using those.

This topic is for video game controllers. Keyboards can't simulate analog input, that's the problem.
