My suggestion is that when you roll over the report button on the forums, something like this pops up:

I think this should be added because when I first used the forums, I thought that reporting a post was just if it was inappropriate.

Tell me what you think.

IMO, when clicking the report button, it should be in the text below the reason you want to report the topic. Here's a bad mockup:

That might be good, but I feel like people would ignore it more if it was like that.

When I first used the forums, I couldn't bring myself to clicking the report button. Now I use it whenever I need to. Point is, I wouldn't have gotten onto that page if the post needed to be moved.

Same here. I would prefer the pop-up.

The pop-up would be a good way to quickly inform new users on the whole purpose of reporting, but it might get annoying for somebody who's had more experience with the forums. Maybe it could appear until the user has reached Scratcher status (similar to the pop-up that appears when a New Scratcher is about to comment) or some similar time-frame?

Same haha I would have felt really bad because I didn't know reporting on the forums was different

It would be nice if this was added. But it might get annoying, so maybe it could be disabled.

No. Read the OP.
It only shows up if you ROLL OVER report.

Your cursor doesn't roll, it hovers. For the sake of understanding I think we should use hover…

Meh, having it disable as a Scratcher isn't optimal for new forumers that have achieved the Scratcher rank.
Instead you should be able to toggle it, or just have it be removed at 100 posts

I support, however I have a better way to be able to show this and when to stop. It should stop after you've reported something once. That way, you understand the message that it gives you when you feel like you must do so. However, if people are just reporting for the sake of removing the message, they would still receive an alert from the Scratch Team telling them that there was nothing wrong with what they reported.

I don't think you noticed but I said that this feature wouldn't be optimal for Scratchers that have more experience on the forums, so a possible disabling after 1k+ posts?

I read all posts that come to my topics.
Maybe under the message put “You can turn off this message in Account Settings”?
