Access custom blocks from all sprites (global procedures)
COMPLETELY SUPPORT! This is the problem I run into most of the times, sometimes you just can't lose a milisecond that you'll lose in broadcasts for sure and obviously it's not actually fun to drag the block into different sprites a hundred times and have duplicated code between sprites because of that.
Why all the confusion about how the global custom blocks should work? They should work exactly as they work now, but without having to repeat the code, you define it in one sprite, then all the other sprites should have access to it and they themselves run the code, not a “master sprite” o.O The only thing they'll have to do is grab the code from the sprite that defines the custom block, nothing more :S

Five hundred posts! I never expected to get up there… In only 2-3 months.
Does anyone know what a signature is? I mean, I've already seen 6-7 people get confused.

I'm working on my first Scratch project, and I thought I was missing something when my custom block couldn't be used on other sprites.

I'm not sure if this have alredy been mentioned, but a simples solution would be: “define” blocks on the Stage would be global, but defines in sprites wouldn't.
edit: NVM, the guy above me have just said that. Anyway, support ^^

I agree. The ability to define “subroutines” of code that can be reused across multiple pieces of code is one of the basic programming features that I would like to be able to teach to beginning programmers. Having to put them in the “stage” to be shared is a reasonable compromise. I heartily endorse the suggestion.

+1! Was trying to replicate a custom block to all sprites and just learned it's not possible. Global blocks would be a very useful feature.
