You listed “punk and emo topic” as “punk / rock topic”. Please change this because this suggests that either it is about just punk rock and not emo rock or that it’s about rock as a whole and punk is not a rock genre (it is). I chose to make the punk and emo topic the same topic because they share a history, have a big overlap, and, typically, share a fanbase.

The main differences between emo and it’s parent genres (hardcore punk and post-hardcore) is the inclusion of slower guitar riffs, a dramatic feel influenced by post-punk bands (usually The Cure), emotional lyrics, and the inclusion of indie rock, pop-punk, and alt-rock influences. Other than that, emo and punk really similar. Still, they’re technically different genres (I’m clearly a music nerd lol).
