Trust me, this not how you expect it. (btw im writing this on xbox one so goodbye fingers)

So I gained your interest, which is good to explain you that the Microsoft Edge app on Xbox is a PORTED Windows app.
Why do you need this information then?

Because the input of basic navigation buttons on the Microsoft Edge Xbox app can be detected by Scratch sensing blocks!

The arrow keys can be detected with the D-Pad, and the A button with left click!

That's what I was talking about, only Xbox controllers in the Microsoft Edge ported Xbox app only work. (according to my testing, may be incomplete)

I connected an Xbox controller to my Chromebook through Bluetooth, went to turbo warp and used the controller extension, but it didn't work as I wanted it to

I used Microsoft edge to run scratch, I could only play games with arrow key controls. The D-pad replaces the arrow keys.
