these topics feel unnecessary and spammy. nobody is coming to the scratch forums to discuss this.
I discovered Scratch in 2015 and created games and animations. From 2020 to 2023, I worked on Scratch browser extensions, found security vulnerabilities, and maintained a forum search engine called ocular. In the summer of 2024, I was an engineering intern with the Scratch Team. Now, I'm ready to finish my last year of high school. Scratch on!

well, it's not really “topics” as they're all the same thing but ah well these topics feel unnecessary and spammy. nobody is coming to the scratch forums to discuss this.
guess i'll make this an android development topic then
(Although, BREW was used in the Zeebo which was a popular console in Brazil which hosts 6.42% of Scratchers so?)

maybe you should only make a topic once there's genuine interest from others to discuss something… otherwise you're just polluting the forums with these blank threads. i think the forums work best when you begin a topic with something to share rather than asking others to.well, it's not really “topics” as they're all the same thing but ah well these topics feel unnecessary and spammy. nobody is coming to the scratch forums to discuss this.

Well to be fair android development IS pretty popular, even on Scratch, and I've taken a stab at it a couple of times - I just never bothered to share themmaybe you should only make a topic once there's genuine interest from others to discuss something… otherwise you're just polluting the forums with these blank threads. i think the forums work best when you begin a topic with something to share rather than asking others to.well, it's not really “topics” as they're all the same thing but ah well these topics feel unnecessary and spammy. nobody is coming to the scratch forums to discuss this.

I mean, starting without an initial thought can cause a lack of conversation, especially due to how open ended simply “android development” is. One could discuss apps they’ve made, or the Google Play fee, maybe if they’ve ever monetized an app before, why they do development.Well to be fair android development IS pretty popular, even on Scratch, and I've taken a stab at it a couple of times - I just never bothered to share themmaybe you should only make a topic once there's genuine interest from others to discuss something… otherwise you're just polluting the forums with these blank threads. i think the forums work best when you begin a topic with something to share rather than asking others to.well, it's not really “topics” as they're all the same thing but ah well these topics feel unnecessary and spammy. nobody is coming to the scratch forums to discuss this.
