(#1817)Nice, That's awesome!(#1806)I noticed this as well.
Edit: I noticed that the emoji set that currently being used (to display the “Not Contributed” emojis) is missing many of the latest emojis like pee pod, wing, ginger root, and others. How difficult would it be to switch over to something more mainstream like Google's Noto Emoji? It's one of the first few to get updated with the latest emojis from Unicode. (as opposed to others that could take months)
There is a semi-official fork of that emoji set that's more up-to-date, and earlier today I created a pull request to switch over to it.
However, you do raise a good point— Google is generally very quick to update Noto with the newest emoji designs.
And if we were to switch to Google, would it be as easy as switching reference links or would it be more involved?

(#1823)It probably wouldn't be super involved, but it's a little more involved than just swapping the links because Noto's naming format starts with a “u” and uses underscores instead of hyphens.(#1817)Nice, That's awesome!(#1806)I noticed this as well.

The cleanest solution would be to rename the emojis in the assets folder to match the Noto format, and update EmojiList.ts to match.

…that'd mess with the already uploaded cubeupload links. I could easily write a function to transform the codepoints.(#1823)It probably wouldn't be super involved, but it's a little more involved than just swapping the links because Noto's naming format starts with a “u” and uses underscores instead of hyphens.(#1817)Nice, That's awesome!(#1806)I noticed this as well.

(#1830)U+FE0F is the unicode character to make emojis appear as their non-colored version. Why should that be added here?Add U+FE0F to smiling face and frowning face too Copyright, registered and trade mark emojis have unicodes as their not emoji versions!

(#1832)Yes, like the cloud emoji in scratch. The only way to make it stand out from other text is to copy the colored version! It's super annoying. I think you're mixing up U+FE0F with U+FE0E.No, it makes emojis appear as their colored version(#1830)U+FE0F is the unicode character to make emojis appear as their non-colored version. (#1836)So, not all emojis have this black and white variant. There is a “BMP” List of emojis that have monochrome for compatibility. There is a nice list here: https://www.johndcook.com/emoji.html Weather an emoji is rendered with color or not is decided by the OS, so the only way to solve this is adding the color variant flag U+FE0F to all of the BPM charcters.can you send a list of the emoji codes I should append U+FE0F to?But on website emoji unicodes are without U+FE0Fthey appear correctly on the website. fe0f is the right code Copyright, registered and trade mark emojis have unicodes as their not emoji versions!
