Yes, due to the new filter on assets.scratch.mit.edu, every forumoji is filtered and cannot be used

cubeupload seems to not have an API and I'm sure it has some form of ratelimiting but I'll look into writing a script to upload all the emojis from here to cubeupload

in fact I'm in study hall right now and I'm bored so why not do it?

I'm planning to also rename the file names in the GitHub to the format of u+{codepoint} for both consistency, easy searchability for extensions that want to use it, and also for shorter file names in general on CubeUpload because of Annoying Sig Limits and Post Limits (!!)

edit: actually just {codepoint} because I wanna structure it like twemoji

The site will be in progress for a bit due to it breaking on the reformat (and the code being horrendous (sorry sfg lol))
I think that I'm gonna rewrite it in ts + webpack just so I can rest easier.

while you're at it— there are certain emojis with codepoints that are supposed to end in FE0F, but on forumoji that part is missing. without it, certain emojis display monochrome instead of in colour.

i made an issue about this a couple weeks ago, but seeing as the entire thing is being redone perhaps now would be a good time to address that?

yeah, I'm also thinking of having a private portal to upload to cubeupload quickly so it's not too much of a hassle

also sorry aspiring forumoji contributors I'm building it in react, ts, and webpack haha

I don't think the Scratch Team would appreciate being flooded with new accounts just to abuse the platform as an image host, especially considering how many emojis there are…

The blocking of assets links appears pretty deliberate and probably reflects the team's feelings toward Scratch being used as an image host in general.

It's alright I'm sure Lego will buy another server for them.

Scratch is not an image host, it's a coding platform. I don't see them shelling out for extra resources to handle their services being abused for a function they don't support, and which actively hinders the website's ability to carry out its primary functions.

I respect that the Scratch team doesn't want Scratch/Assets used as an image host. Please do not find any bypasses for it; they will not be supported officially.

I have permission from Tom (cubeupload) to write an automated script to upload all the emojis under the name @fmji. We do not need to go as far as this.
