Wait my levels are not easy at all. i've seen your runs when you were playing my levels. you struggled to bet them(Diamond blade for example). So how would my levels be too easy?????

I make sure that the levels I made are not as easy as it sounds. I usually play test every single jump and gimmick to make sure that there are no swag routes, secret routes, and players attempting to cheese my levels and making sure that there are NO shortcuts at all. Although, some players had managed to find cheese routes / secret routes / shortcuts, but if the level is incomplete and the level title contains “(PREVIEW 1)” or “(PREVIEW 2)” or “(FINAL PREVIEW)”, then I would patch it and make the level harder. I NEVER make easy levels and if I did, then it would be cakewalk for appel players that had played this game for 2-3 months. So as a result, None of my levels are easy (except joke levels).

First of all, let me address my own difficulty system:

In my difficulty system, Xtreme is sort-of a bracket difficulty for anything that is just ridiculously difficult to beat. The reason why there isn't anything above Xtreme is that the skill ceiling of Appel players will only increase, and therefore I will have to make more difficulties, which is frankly a pain. And another point I have is that in the Xtreme category, levels are so difficult that it is genuinely frustrating to judge which one is harder.

I hate to use comparisons, but see Xtreme as something like the Extreme Demon difficulty from the game Geometry Dash: the difficulty between the easiest and the hardest extreme demon is ginormous.

I think I might consider using your difficulty system in the future once I am comfortable with it, as my own difficulty system is admittedly outdated as like 80% of my levels nowadays are Xtreme difficulty, and my difficulty system hasn't evolved in ages to compensate for new, more difficult levels.

TLDR: Difficulty ranking is a pain

Secondly, the level:

I think that the new sections added are not as difficult as the original section, but that's okay!

Why do I think that it is okay, despite being so harsh on the difficulty before? Because the level has no checkpoints. Aside from making me cry in frustration as I repeatedly try to beat the level so I can properly judge its difficulty, it makes the player stressed, as the first section is admittedly not too difficult but also not easy as corner-jumping and fall-wall-climbing are some of the most inconsistent of the practical gimmicks. In summary, I think that the difficulty of the level has now actually increased by a significant amount - good job on that!

Lastly, a warning to all who attempt the level: it is actually harder than it looks. Trust me - I spent 30 minutes trying to beat the level from zero, and the furthest I have gotten is the moving platforms section.

TLDR: Harder than it looks - I really should've left the “beating the level” part to someone more skilled at these gimmicks, like cwktao or Landon)

Wait my levels are not easy at all. i've seen your runs when you were playing my levels. you struggled to bet them(Diamond blade for example). So how would my levels be too easy?????

I make sure that the levels I made are not as easy as it sounds. I usually play test every single jump and gimmick to make sure that there are no swag routes, secret routes, and players attempting to cheese my levels and making sure that there are NO shortcuts at all. Although, some players had managed to find cheese routes / secret routes / shortcuts, but if the level is incomplete and the level title contains “(PREVIEW 1)” or “(PREVIEW 2)” or “(FINAL PREVIEW)”, then I would patch it and make the level harder. I NEVER make easy levels and if I did, then it would be cakewalk for appel players that had played this game for 2-3 months. So as a result, None of my levels are easy (except joke levels).

There are more explanations that none of my levels are easy, but i dont want to post them cuz, well, you know…

Please make easy levels, your level design is very fun (in my opinion) but sometimes you put massive inconsistent chokepoints to make a level difficult

First of all, let me address my own difficulty system:

In my difficulty system, Xtreme is sort-of a bracket difficulty for anything that is just ridiculously difficult to beat. The reason why there isn't anything above Xtreme is that the skill ceiling of Appel players will only increase, and therefore I will have to make more difficulties, which is frankly a pain. And another point I have is that in the Xtreme category, levels are so difficult that it is genuinely frustrating to judge which one is harder.

I hate to use comparisons, but see Xtreme as something like the Extreme Demon difficulty from the game Geometry Dash: the difficulty between the easiest and the hardest extreme demon is ginormous.

I think I might consider using your difficulty system in the future once I am comfortable with it, as my own difficulty system is admittedly outdated as like 80% of my levels nowadays are Xtreme difficulty, and my difficulty system hasn't evolved in ages to compensate for new, more difficult levels.

TLDR: Difficulty ranking is a pain

Secondly, the level:

I think that the new sections added are not as difficult as the original section, but that's okay!

Why do I think that it is okay, despite being so harsh on the difficulty before? Because the level has no checkpoints. Aside from making me cry in frustration as I repeatedly try to beat the level so I can properly judge its difficulty, it makes the player stressed, as the first section is admittedly not too difficult but also not easy as corner-jumping and fall-wall-climbing are some of the most inconsistent of the practical gimmicks. In summary, I think that the difficulty of the level has now actually increased by a significant amount - good job on that!

Lastly, a warning to all who attempt the level: it is actually harder than it looks. Trust me - I spent 30 minutes trying to beat the level from zero, and the furthest I have gotten is the moving platforms section.

TLDR: Harder than it looks - I really should've left the “beating the level” part to someone more skilled at these gimmicks, like cwktao or Landon)

They might not be able to beat it once the original level gets released. If they cant beat the level, then i would nerf it.

First of all, let me address my own difficulty system:

In my difficulty system, Xtreme is sort-of a bracket difficulty for anything that is just ridiculously difficult to beat. The reason why there isn't anything above Xtreme is that the skill ceiling of Appel players will only increase, and therefore I will have to make more difficulties, which is frankly a pain. And another point I have is that in the Xtreme category, levels are so difficult that it is genuinely frustrating to judge which one is harder.

I hate to use comparisons, but see Xtreme as something like the Extreme Demon difficulty from the game Geometry Dash: the difficulty between the easiest and the hardest extreme demon is ginormous.

I think I might consider using your difficulty system in the future once I am comfortable with it, as my own difficulty system is admittedly outdated as like 80% of my levels nowadays are Xtreme difficulty, and my difficulty system hasn't evolved in ages to compensate for new, more difficult levels.

TLDR: Difficulty ranking is a pain

Secondly, the level:

Why do I think that it is okay, despite being so harsh on the difficulty before? Because the level has no checkpoints. Aside from making me cry in frustration as I repeatedly try to beat the level so I can properly judge its difficulty, it makes the player stressed, as the first section is admittedly not too difficult but also not easy as corner-jumping and fall-wall-climbing are some of the most inconsistent of the practical gimmicks. In summary, I think that the difficulty of the level has now actually increased by a significant amount - good job on that!

Lastly, a warning to all who attempt the level: it is actually harder than it looks. Trust me - I spent 30 minutes trying to beat the level from zero, and the furthest I have gotten is the moving platforms section.

TLDR: Harder than it looks - I really should've left the “beating the level” part to someone more skilled at these gimmicks, like cwktao or Landon)

They might not be able to beat it once the original level gets released. If they cant beat the level, then i would nerf it.

I simply didn't have the willpower to complete it. After discovering that the cheese was patched, I took one look at the first jump beyond the part that I used to cheese the first preview, tried to do the jump, failed & gave up.

Wait my levels are not easy at all. i've seen your runs when you were playing my levels. you struggled to bet them(Diamond blade for example). So how would my levels be too easy?????

I make sure that the levels I made are not as easy as it sounds. I usually play test every single jump and gimmick to make sure that there are no swag routes, secret routes, and players attempting to cheese my levels and making sure that there are NO shortcuts at all. Although, some players had managed to find cheese routes / secret routes / shortcuts, but if the level is incomplete and the level title contains “(PREVIEW 1)” or “(PREVIEW 2)” or “(FINAL PREVIEW)”, then I would patch it and make the level harder. I NEVER make easy levels and if I did, then it would be cakewalk for appel players that had played this game for 2-3 months. So as a result, None of my levels are easy (except joke levels).

There are more explanations that none of my levels are easy, but i dont want to post them cuz, well, you know…
