But that already exists in the form of the Questions about Scratch and Help With Scripts forums.

What other sort of help would one need, that is appropriate for the forums, that can't be covered in one of the two forums above (or any other forum that currently exists)?

I'm pretty sure your parents are supposed to make your account if you're under 13

a forum that anyone could post on and only the scratch team and the person who made the topic could reply to you could also choose if you wanted only you and the scratch team to see it or everyone
That's what the questions about scratch forum section IS for, you knew that, right? And private messaging on scratch (unless it's a notif from st) is rejected.

How the heck is that relevant? Besides, your parents don't have to make an acc for you and this has NOTHING to do with accs.

They will be reported.
You can't report something you can't see, which are topics marked to be only seen by the Scratch Team (which needs to be a setting, otherwise this whole thing is pointless!)
True, it's almost like saying you can see apples when you see pears. Or kumquats. You get my point.

That isn't relevant.

This would easily become spammed. Why would new scratchers want to use QaS when they have a direct hotline to the ST?
Exactly!

What makes you think this is going to be any faster?
The st have enough work already. Adding another sub-forum with ambiguous use is not going to help.

That'd probably get misused a lot and be filled with spammy questions that anyone could answer, not just the Scratch team.
This. Not everybody has the life experience to know when something is off topic and where to post, and this will include the proposed new forum.

I know it's hard sometimes because the forums are very busy. However, the Scratch Team is very busy too and we should not add to their workload.

I'm a volunteer admin on another site and I absolutely hate it when people send me PMs with questions that the community could answer easily, and sometimes even better than I could.
Exactly.

Just use Questions about Scratch. Most people will back up their evidence with ST quotes if you ask.
If it's something that shouldn't be public, then it shouldn't be publicly posted there, or in a new forum. Just use Contact Us. If that's too slow, why do you think a new forum where the ST would not get email notifications be any faster?

Please just use Contact Us if there's something that you need to ask the Scratch Team about directly due to the sensitivity of the subject. Otherwise, you can ask in Questions About Scratch - plenty of people there are generally familiar with our stance on things. I realize that it can be difficult if your access to email is limited. You do need an email to sign up though, so I'd encourage you to talk to a trusted adult such as a parent or teacher if you need help asking us something using Contact Us.
