Assistant Secretary and Vice President Results

Hey guyyyyys! Guess who's coming out with BoD results in a timely manner for once? It's me! I have the results! On time!

This really was a tough decision. There were so many people applying, and everyone's applications were amazing! I really wish I could put more of you guys on the BoD, but there are only so many positions to fill. I talked to both Tater and Muffins to decide on the applications, and we all agreed that these were the best people for the jobs. So, without further ado…

Our new 2nd Vice President is @whiteandblackcat, and our new Assistant Secretary is @PndaGmr978! They've both been members of the shop for a while (well, Panda just rejoined recently, but still), and they've both had experience on the BoD before. I know they'll both do great at their new jobs, and I'm looking forward to working with them more!

Aaaaand since Cat used to be the Assistant PRO… Now we need to open up APRO applications. (All of you people who apply for every single BoD opening, time to get your applications ready again!) But since I don't want to do it we wanna be mean to Cat I've already had to manage the applications for two BoD positions in the last week, Tater and decided that we're gonna make Cat deal with the APRO applications! (No, we didn't tell her about this beforehand. Hehe, sorry not sorry Cat~) So she'll probably deal with that soon.

Examples of work: Here is a part of a review I've done:

On September 4th, 2019, we got a new Kirby game for the Switch, and it was called, Super Kirby Clash. I didn’t know much about Kirby so I unsurprisingly passed. Then it said it was Free To Play. I was like, “Alright, I’ll check it out.” I booted up the game and realized that it had a similar title to another Free To Play game on the 3DS, called Team Kirby Clash Deluxe. I was like, “Well that’s weird.” So when I got to the Village I saw that it was a port of Team Kirby Clash Deluxe. I had played Team Kirby Clash Deluxe a little bit 2 years ago, so I didn’t really remember much. 1 hour in and I was addicted.

Today I am going to review Super Kirby Clash for the Nintendo Switch, it is one of the best Free To Play games out there. The basic idea is you are in this village in the Dream Kingdom and you go to the Quest Board to take on countless boss fights. You choose from 4 different classes. First, there is the Sword Hero. He is the more balanced class and attacks with his sword, and can use his shield and create a protective bubble that not only he can use but teammates can too. He also is the fastest out of them all. Next, you have Hammer Lord. He is the slowest one and cannot float very well. He makes up for that with him having the highest jump in the game along with the high damaging attacks from his hammer. Now for my favorite, Doctor Healmore. His attacks are on the weaker side but can use a healing potion to create a Healing Area for him and teammates to run through and get healed. He can also use his Science Lab to nail aerial enemies and gain invincibility frames. Last but not least is Beam Mage. He has the smallest moveset to work with, but can stop time with his staff using a Time Beam to put a lot of damage on the enemy. Doctor Healmore and Beam Mage are in the support class with their Healing Area and Time Beam. They are meant to help teammates and pitch in with what you can. You start the battle and use different attacks to defeat the enemy.

Accepted! You'll start as a trainee, but can be promoted to a full member once you have some experience - try rereading the front page if you're not sure how you can be promoted. No one will be keeping track for you, so you'll need to tell us when you need promoting.

aPRO Applications
Yeah folks, it's that time again! Another round of applications!

But first, I have a little speech thing:
I know that there are a lot of different spots opening up recently, and I know it's really draining to apply for all of them, especially if you don't end up getting chosen. I get it, I've been in that position before. But here's the thing: Not everyone can get a position. We get heaps of applications, and the standard is so high. We'd love to give every single one of you a BoD position - you all deserve one! But if we did, it'd be like having no BoD. So we can't, and unfortunately some people have to not be promoted.
So this is just a reminder that not getting selected doesn't mean you're a bad employee or that we don't think you'd be fit for the job.
It's so hard to choose, because so many of the applicants would do an amazing job! The reality is, we just can't choose everyone.
So, when the results come out, no matter who's chosen, just remember that you're all amazing employees with a mind-blowing quality of work.

Now for the actual applications:
You can find the application form on the front page. But if you're going to apply, please make sure you're willing and prepared to do the duties of an aPRO - Often I see people apply, listing things they'll do once chosen, and then not do them. I'm guilty of that myself. But let's all try to stop that, so the shop can run well and smoothly, with active and enthusiastic staff!

Assistant Public Relations Officer:
Helps the PR Officer and fills in for them when they are absent, makes sure our list of partnerships and federations is up to date, checks our partners and federations every few weeks to make sure they are active.

Edit: Oh yeah - applications close in 4 days - The last day to apply is the 15th of October.

Experience in other shops: I’m a forum veteran at this point, been on the requests forums for a few years, I know my way around here. Ran a few shops in my lifetime, already operating 78ch3's Everything Shop, The Parking Meter Shop and The Scratch Shop Reviews and Assistance Federation. I’ve worked in dozens of shops in the past, was a member of the big megashops like come and leave fast shop (Before closure) and BGMeads shop (before and after closure and re-opening). I went through a lot in that time, and while the loss of many scratchers and shops has been sad, that's what's strengthened me to become a great requests forum-focused scratcher. Currently the Co-owner of the USS and member of TIPS, BGmead's shop and a wikian.
What contributions have you made to the shop? I’ve completed a few orders and stayed with the shop, but it’s not just past contributions that make me a great APRO, it's what’s to come.
What would some of your first actions be? Manage relationships with other shops and federations. Then I’ll throw a pizza party.

I have seen many shops, scratchers and fun times come and go. I’ve spent a few years doing my thing around here, and have been aiming to keep shops going so we don’t lose more forum veterans. Scratch 3.0 may have sent many veterans away, but that doesn’t mean I’m leaving. I’m going to stay here and keep programming, keep drawing, and remain on Scratch with you guys. The requests forum is where I belong, and I’m staying here. My experience with leadership makes me a top-notch candidate, and I will help guide you guys to a better future. And while I may not seem like much to you guys, you'll know my efficiency when I get the spot.

What contributions have you made to the shop? I take orders frequently. I always try to get them done in time, and to the customer's satisfaction.
What would some of your first actions be? First I would see if there is something the PRO needs doing. Then I would conduct an activity check with our partners and federations, so that we can update the list.
Why should we pick you? I am dedicated to this shop, I have been working here for a while, and would love this position. Thank you for considering my application.
