This post fully consists of my personal criticism, and as a critic I have the rights to criticize this shop as long as it is not in a mean or offending way. Please do not take my criticisms seriously as they will only benefit you and your shop in the end.

First Impressions

The title is pretty unique, I wouldn't have thought of making an art shop that includes a reference to topaz. It wil definitely attract a huge audience who want to know what topaz is. However, not to offend you or anything, this is just personal criticism - once you go to the studio, there are many mistakes in the grammar of the description, and there's almost no capitalization and very low punctuation. Due to this, some users might think that the shop is unprofessional and therefore ordering or being a member there might not be a good idea.

Activeness: 6/10

The activeness is starting to get slightly better, but even then there are mostly orders and partnership requests and low staff members who are actually active. In your last activity check, nearly nobody responded and here are some suggestions for that: try to invest some time in partnering with other shops and including deals that you'll advertise their shop and their shop will advertise yours, and turn on the comments on your profile, use the Show and Tell forum, use your profile description, all to advertise your studio as much as you can. You can also order to a shop like this one that they advertise yours, which is a service that many shops offer for free.

Another good idea would be to invest some time in commenting on all of the staff member's profiles and ask them whether they would still like to be a member of your shop or if they would like to resign so they can know that they're still working there and they might want to return. It would also be a good idea to add proper forms for taking a leave from your shop and resigning from it (in case staff members are going on hiatus or vacation, or they have something important going on in their actual life) so it's much more easy and convenient for the staff.

Professionalism: 4/10

The professionalism can definitely be improvised. The grammar, capitalization, and punctuation in the description can definitely be improved a bunch, and the fact that you're commenting so much with stuff like “We need orders” and “i am redoing the desc” without adding proper grammar like “| ANNOUNCEMENT | We need more orders, and I'm going to invest some time in advertising this shop and share it with my friends. Please help if you can!” can make your shop seem childish and not that professional.

If you need your shop to stand out as a professional one like a real company, you need to improve your grammar, add more forms for leaving the shop and resigning from it, and finish orders more quickly. It's important to finish orders and not only accept them and work on them for a very long time. And the amount of professionalism can also be decreased if you post comments that are irrelevant to the subject or the shop. On one of your recent comments, somebody said “Hello! This is Yeetoburro1 from golden reviews. I would like you to spend some more time on my testing order, make it realistic, and have each of your staff do the order as well so I can get an accurate view of the shop. Thanks!” and you replied saying “What is that thing on your profile”.

Had you not replied with that comment and actually responded to it saying that you'll request the staff members to all complete their test order and you'll try your best too, you would've gotten a good review from Golden Reviews. You need to be more professional and remain off-topic and not drift off into the wild with your grammar and comment replies. However, if you feel like you can't improve the grammar in the description, many shops including this one offer writing services for free, which means you can order that a shop improves your description for free, and you can give credits to them afterwards.

Another idea is to add a Terms and Conditions with terms like how staff members should behave, and that they have to confirm in their job form that they are a good artist. Otherwise, you'll just have random staff and you'll have no evidence that they're an actual good artist. It might also be a good idea to give staff members that don't respond to activity checks a strike, and if they get 3-5 strikes, they get fired due to not being active, but they can always reapply when they wish. It would also be a good idea to enforce a rule that users have to use the job form to join your shop instead of just asking a question and joining immediately. It would also be a good idea to add a code word in the Terms and Conditions to confirm that the team member has read everything.

So, in the end, my suggestions are: improving the grammar in the description, improving the grammar of your short announcements, refrain from posting irrelevant comments, finish orders quickly, implement forms so it's more easy for staff to take a leave or resign, implement a Terms and Conditions, implement a term that tells people to use the job form to join, implement a code word, and additionally, ask a lot of shops to review yours. That's how you can get a basic idea of what to improve and it will help you a lot in your shop journey - that's what I did in my last and current shop, and they're all running perfectly well.

Title: 9/10

The title of this shop is perfect - as I said before, the terms “topaz” and “art” combined will attract a major audience as that title is unique and nobody would expect topaz to be associated with art. My only complaint about the title is that it says “Opening and hiring!”, which, again, is a problem with professionalism, and you say “opening”, which implies that your shop is in the process of opening, which it is not since it has already opened a long time ago. My suggestion is that it changes to “Topaz Art Shop | Now Hiring | Now Accepting Order” just so it's much more clean, understandable, and professional.

Anyways, that was my review! Hopefully it will help you improvise on your shop and learn how to make your shop brilliant and way more professional to look and work in. Please make sure to fill in the customer survey and also return to Longarms Creations for all your needs (and to Topaz Art Shop for all your art needs )

Sorry, but there is no confirmation in this post that you've read section 1 of the Terms and Conditions. Try reading it again and you'll find an evidence that you must include in your post. Additionally, please respond by saying “yes” or “no” to the question “Do you want a specialist to complete your order:” so we know whether you want a specialist (a good profile picture artist) to finish your order.

UNSTRIKING TERMS

So, I'm sure many of you have noticed that I've been brainstorming a lot over good ideas for the unstriking system to be added to the Poll Jumble, and I've decided that we don't have to overcomplicate this. I'm sure many of you know (credits to @LankyBox01 for informing me) that YouTube community strikes expire after a month or so and YouTube channels don't immediately get terminated. So, my idea was that strikes expire after a month or so, which was the first idea that @LankyBox01 suggested and I feel is the best solution for this problem. Now, let me explain how this will work and why this will work.

I'm sure many of you are assuming that I chose this solution due to my laziness and because I couldn't find a better one, but I was actually thinking about this for a long time and I felt that this is the best solution. Why? Well, let me explain. When I was running my last shop, the Scratch Ultimate Coding Shop, I explained to my dad how activity checks, strikes, and firing worked in that shop. He was very interested in the system, and his final response was “Why do you fire them immediately? I feel like that shouldn't be done so fast.”

But then, I didn't understand why that was and I told him that's just how it works. But now, when I think about that moment again, I feel that my dad was correct. Firing is not some weird joke that can be done because users don't respond to four activity checks or break a couple of rules; if people in real companies could get fired in less than a month because of some petty mistakes they made, would the companies be as big as they are now? I don't think so. I doubt even Scratch would exist if that were the case.

I feel like we need to take firing more seriously than just go to team member's profiles with no empathy at all and shove a message in their face saying “you were fired lol”. Firing should only be done if a team member is SO bad or inactive that they actually deserve it, rather than just doing it doing all the time. I feel like, if strikes expire every month, it would be the best idea for seeing who is a truly bad team member. Because - let's be honest here - if a team member is bad enough to get four strikes in a single month, then they deserve a fire. Do they deserve a fire if they accidentally earnt four strikes over the time of three years? I definitely do not think so.

However, let's get to the actual point here. Let's say a team member does get fired with this system, and they reapply to join our shop. Then, I feel like we shouldn't give them so much freedom that they get to lose a strike every month, because then they can just be as inactive as they wish and get fired over and over again and reapply. My idea was that we include a new type of strikes, called notices. Notices are strikes that will be used if you're on your second run of Longarms, which means you reapplied.

Now, technically, if you get fired with strikes, you're not really “fired”, as you can always reapply to join the shop. More like you're not a team member anymore until you wish to rejoin. However, with notices, it's different. One notice only expires over 2.5 months, and if they get four notices, they get terminated from Longarms, which means they are not allowed to reapply anymore. The only way that they can reapply is by appealing, and appealing is an extremely long process - one should write at least a five-paragraph post consisting of all the mistakes they did that they will not repeat and explaining that they will be a loyal member of Longarms. Then, they can come back again with the original strike system. That's that.

So, nothing is too strict anymore in Longarms. Even if team members get fired with strikes or notices, they have a way to reapply, only that with notices it's much harder to get back in and you need a reason that the president should confirm and no other BoD member is allowed to deal with.

Hopefully my ideas for unstriking is good. I'll include this into the Poll Jumble and see what people are going to think. Without this system, people can easily get striked, noticed, or fired, which I really don't want as I explained why firing is not a mere joke.

See you around very soon, folks!

Wow, guys… I completed an order today, was active here for the last four hours, finished the unstriking terms, updated the team member studio a lot, implemented, like, a million polls to the Poll Jumble, discussed with a lot of Scratchers and team members, and I feel like I deserve a tiny break… I'll try to finish the PR Officer stuff very soon, but now I'm just going to finish the team member studio terms and go play Roblox… Maybe I'll finish the PR Officers work this evening, but guests are coming so I'm unsure - and tomorrow there's another poll result, so I'll try to do that the day after tomorrow (because then that's the only work to do and it's pretty easy, so I can finish it - not like today, I'm literally exhausted from being on this shop for so long…)

~snip~
I recommend you start snipping posts. It cuts the length and makes it easier to navigate the topic. It is quite simple, all you have to do is cut most of the text of a post you're quoting and replace it with ‘snip’

edit: 700th post :o
