Chapter 1)
Ghostkit peeled back her lips, letting out a snarl. “We've warned you before. But you didn't listen. Now, we'll take back our territory.” She lunged knocking over the attacking cat, “Take that, DawnClan!”

“Hey! You didn't give me a chance to retaliate!” Her brother, Treekit, chuckled. She giggled and smiled, “I win! ClawClan will always be victorious!” It was a sunny day, cats returning from patrols, eating prey, and sharing tounges about the day.

“I give up! ClawClan will always be superior to DawnClan.” Treekit said dramatically, and Ghostpaw got her paws off him, and Treekit popped up. His eyes widened. “Ghostkit, looks!” he whispered and she turned around, confused.

He knocked her over. “Ha! I got you!” She narrowed her eyes and growled, “Are you sure?” before kicking him in the stomach. Treekit fell off and said, “I'm dead, bleh.” Ghostkit smiled, “Ghoststar will always win!”

Treekit chuckled, “You sure you'll be leader one day?” Ghostkit said through her smile, “Shut up, you're supposed to be dead.” Their mother, Sleekclaw called out, “Ghostkit and Treekit! Play nice!” while she sat next to a soft, gray she-cat.

“Kits,” she said, laughing and Sleekclaw let out a small chuckle. Treekit puffed out his chest and walked over to the she-cat. “Excuse me, Lilyshade!” he said, making his voice go lower. Lilyshade was obviously trying not to laugh as Treekit struggled to stand like that, staggering back and forth.

Ghostkit smiled as he continued, “We are brave ClawClan warriors! Not kits!” Lilyshade said, “Are you? What if we were scary DawnClan warriors?” Sleekclaw bared her teeth in a sort of snarl, playfully. “We are DawnClan, coming to take over ClawClan!”

Treekit crouched and wiggles his haunches, “We won't let you! C'mon, Ghostkit! I can't take two DawnClan warriors on my own!” Treekit ran forward and Ghostkit followed, Treekit pouncing on Lilyshade's tail and Ghostkit trying to climb Sleekclaw's back to her head.

“Take that!” Treekit growled as he lightly swiped at Lilyshade's tail and Ghostkit getting on top of Ghostkit's head and pushing Sleekclaw's eyes shut. “Haha!” she squeaked. Lilyshade fell back dramatically onto her back. “Oh no! My tail, my weak point!”

Sleekclaw, eyes closed, said, “There are too many ClawClan warriors. We're defeated!” She fell onto her stomach, “You've defeated me!” Treekit smiled, looking proud of himself. “I'm-I mean,” he looked at Ghostkit, “We are the best!”

She joined him, “Yes we are! And we'll beat your puny warriors any day!” The two she-cats laughed and got up. “You're going to be my ferocious warriors one day, aren't you.” Sleekclaw purred, nuzzling her kits.

Treekit tried to squirm away, “Sleekclaw! You're mothering me!” and Ghostkit giggled as Sleekclaw's whiskers tickled her. “Well, I guess I'm doing my job right,” Sleekclaw purred before looking to Lilyshade. “Speaking of warriors, Lilyshade, where's Bloodkit, Ratkit, and Volekit?”

Lilyshade tilted her head, “Hmm? I left them with Eaglegeather. He said he would watch them while I took a nap.” Sleekclaw sighed, “Lilyshade, he hasn't gotten out of the warrior's den all day. Do you believe that kits would willingly stay in a den for a long time?”

The queen gave a nervous smile and rushed off to the den. Treekit spoke up, “Bloodkit did say something of exploring outside camp.” He shrank down and quickly said, as Sleekclaw gave him a look, “S-she said, she wasn't going too far away!”

Ghostkit looked at him, “You really think that Bloodkit always says what she's going to do?” Treekit nodded, “She's truthful.” She flattened her ears, “What about when she said there were berries behind camp, that she found?” Treekit said, mockingly, “Bloodkit never said they were real!”

Sleekclaw growled, “Ok, enough arguing you two! I'm going to find them and you two are going to stay here!” Treekit opened his mouth to complain but Ghostkit quickly nudged him, mouthing, “It's not worth it.”

She walked off and he just huffed, “Why can't we go on adventures? I'm as big as Bloodkit!” Ghostkit smiled nervously, knowing how he can react to the wrong comment. “I'm sure we'll be there someday.”

Treekit turned around and said, “We're 4 moons. 4! It'll be 2 more until we can become apprentices!” He hung his head, dragging his paw through the dirt. “That'll take forever….” Suddenly he perked up and Ghostkit flattened her ears.

“I don't like that look,” she said, face filled with nervousness. Treekit gave a mischievous smile, “What look?” She pointed to his face, “That look, you've got a plan. And every time you have a plan, it ends up with me getting you out of it and both of us being punished!”

He scoffed, “Its because you always want to be goody-four paws.” Treekit stuck his muzzle right in her face. “Goody-four paws! Goody-four paws!” Ghostkit smacked him in the muzzle, sharply and quickly.

“Mouse-brain!” she retaliated, feeling instantly guilty at the sight of Treekit's tail drooping. “I-i'm s-sorry….I-I didn't mean it…” Ghostkit stuttered and Treekit burst out laughing. “See! You can't even insult someone without apologizing!”

She sputtered, “Well….I….I.” Ghostkit just sighed, “Fine do whatever. I'm going to find Volekit.” Treekit tilted his head, “Wouldn't she be out of camp with the others?” Ghostkit shrugged, “Probably not. She's not usually to keen on her sibling's adventures…”

She narrowed her eyes and Treekit shot, “Hey! I know you don't like my plans, but they will work!” Ghostkit rolled her eyes and walked towards the warrior's den, muttering, “When Twolegs make sense” and carefully walked in.

There were only two cats inside: a pale brown tom, with a tan and brown kit, curled up at his stomach. Ghostkit smiled, it was adorable, and he actually looked like her father. She backed up to leave but Volekit whispered with a smile, “I'm awake, he's not.”

Ghostkit trotted quietly up to her, “I thought I found you here.” she giggled quietly and Volekit smiled back, carefully moving so it wouldn't disturb the warrior. The way she moved, she almost did it naturally as if she had done this many times before.

Volekit whispered softly, “Let's go outside so we don't wake up Eaglefeather.” and slid outside, putting her paws gently on the den floor. Ghostkit followed her and asked, “So, did your siblings leave camp?” Volekit shrugged.

“I have no idea. Bloodkit and Ratkit talked about something about leaving ”this dump“ and exploring somewhere. I fell asleep while Eaglefeather was telling them off about it and when I first woke up, they were gone, no trace of them.”

Volekit yawned as took on a smug look, “Well, when those two get back, it'll be very interesting. Usually, they're never caught, but until then, I'm going to stay in the nursery. Let me know when they get back.” She walked into the nursery, tail curled at the tip.

Ghostkit shuffled her paws unsure of what to do. Bloodkit and Ratkit were somewhere in the territory. Treekit was only StarClan knows where. Volekit was asleep. Sleekclaw and Lilyshade were out hunting the duo.

Her ear pricked when she heard muttering. “So if we went out the territory, they wouldn't have caught us…no DawnClan would've found us…” Ghostkit turned her head towards the voice. Sleekclaw and Lilyshade were walking in two kits, both being carried.

One had tanish fur, light blue eyes with darker tanish spots on two of her paws and her chest, including a brown tail. She was silent, her eyes cold and calculating as if silently planning every escape route possible.

The other one was the one muttering. He had darkish green eyes, his pelt the same color as the first kit's tail except for every single leg he had was a tanish color. The kit was seeming to go through every possible outcome.

Sleekclaw put down the kit with the brown tail, “Bloodkit, run off to the nursery.” She turned around and snapped, “What about Ratkit?!” The kit didn't even look up, still talking to himself. Lilyshade growled but Sleekclaw put a paw in front of her.

“That's what she wants. Don't let her get the satisfaction of seeing you snap completely. You're the adult.” Lilyshade sighed and narrowed her eyes, “I would like some respect from you, Bloodkit.” She opened her mouth, “You're not my mother! She could be dead”

Ghostkit covered her mouth to stop from laughing at Lilyshade's expression, “If I didn't have to be a responsible adult, I would throw you into the nearest Twoleg den, you spoiled little brat.” she muttered, so quiet Ghostkit could barely hear it.

Sleekclaw looked like she was trying not to laugh at this point. Lilyshade bared her teeth and said, “That doesn't matter right now, Bloodkit. I am you, guardian, presently right now, so I am in charge. And I told you to go to the nursery.”

She ducked down and snarled softly, “Do you understand me clearly?” Bloodkit looked slightly shaken at the queen's change in mood, but stood up straight and growled, “Yeah, yeah, whatever.” and walked off towards the nursery.

She spotted Ghostkit and gave a smile, usually one that ment no good. “Enjoying the show?” Lilyshade growled, “Faster, Bloodkit. Don't stall. I'll come in there later and we'll chat.” She rolled her eyes and squeezed into the nursery.

Lilyshade bent her head to Ratkit, who was examining his claws with interest. “Go to the medicine cat den to have Mouseleaf check on you. That scratch probably won't get infected but it doesn't hurt to check.” she purred as he walked off, still muttering.

Sleekclaw saw Ghostkit and narrowed her eyes, “How long have you been there?” She shrugged with an innocent smile, “Enough to hear Bloodkit get chewed out.” Ghostkit trotted over to Lilyshade and purred, with pure kit amazement, “That was so cool!”

Lilyshade guilty shuffled her paws, “I was so close to actually striking Bloodkit. She was making me so mad.” she huffed. Sleekclaw nudged her, “Well, don't worry about it. I've nearly done that too.”

Ghostkit tilted her head and asked with curiosity, “Really? Were we that bad?” Sleekclaw nuzzled Ghostkit and purred, “You weren't that bad. Treekit though….” She chuckled, “Do you remember when I found out he decided to eat all the poppy seeds because he thought they looked good?”

Ghostkit giggled. “He was so drowsy, he tried to keep standing up straight but instead of that, he was balancing on one side to stop from falling over.” Lilyshade laughed, “That's what happened? When I was taking a nap, I was woken up with him trying to enter the den but he kept running into the wall right beside it.”

“I asked him what was wrong and he said he wanted to take a nap but couldn't find his nest. I just thought he was tipsy!” she giggled. Ghostkit laughed with her when Sleekclaw gave Lilyshade a smirk.

Sleekclaw continued with a purr, “When I found out what he did, I nearly smacked him, claws unsheathed. My plan was that I could perhaps get some of his brain cells working once again as they seemed stuck.” Lilyshade said, “Toms. Especially when they're kits.” She lowered her voice as if sharing a secret. “Not exactly the smartest.” Sleekclaw took on a smirk.

“Speaking of toms, what about you and Eaglefeather? I've seen you hanging out with him a lot more. Any plans?” Lilyshade took on a sort of blush and tried to hide her face. “We're just friends. For now,” she muttered.

Sleekclaw grinned, “Nothing else. Maybe you should take your relationship a step forward. You both enjoy each other's company.” Ghostkit tilted her head, “Like, they would become best friends?”

She shook her head, “Nope. Farther than that?”

“Mega friends?”

“No”

“Mega Mega friends?”

Sleekclaw said, “No” but was obviously biting her tongue to not laugh. Lilyshade covered her face and suddenly sat up straight as if someone dug their claws into her back. That was the case, as Ratkit had his claws dug into Lilyshade's back.

He slid down with a huff, “As interesting as it is to listen to you she-cat's gossip, can I go to the nursery since I need your permission.” he said with obvious sarcasm. “Lacepaw check on it and said it was fine since Mouseleaf wasn't there. I'm supposed to just get rest.”

Lilyshade smiled, and opened her mouth to say something but was interrupted by some yowling. “Everyone who is old enough to catch their own prey, gather underneath the Sliced Rock, for an apprentice ceremony!”

Ghostkit looked up to see a white tom sitting on the rock, a light red she-cat next to him, looking smug. The rock they sat on had several deep, etching scratches in it, some small, some huge. He continued, “Ratkit, Bloodkit, and Volekit.”

At her name being called, Volekit stumbled out of the den, fur fluffed up, and Bloodkit pushing her out. “C'mon, sleepy fur. Hurry up,” she muttered. Lilyshade anxiously rushed over to the kits, “Icestar, you didn't give me a chance, look their fur is so dirty!” She tried to groom Ratkit's pelt.

He shoved her off, “I don't need a wash.” and walked up the Sliced Rock, tail high. Bloodkit followed, still pushing a very sleepy Volekit, who kept stumbling over her paws. Lilyshade softly muttered, “Why didn't Icestar warn me at all?”

Ghostkit giggled at the three kits going up the rock and looked around for Treekit in the gathering crowd of cats. She then spotted him with an orange she-cat and a black she-cat with a white paw.

The two she-cats were obviously siblings being both the same size, the orange one only looking slightly bigger. The black she-cat was scolding her, furiously over something when Ghostkit walked over to them.

“I told you, Mapletail! He'd be frightened of your fighting stories!” She then scoffed, “Suprised you aren't a pile of fur yet.” Mapletail nudged her, “Aw, Lacepaw. You aren't really mad at me.” She grinned and Lacepaw narrowed her eyes.

“If you find a painful thorn in your nest one day, that'll be your fault.” She walked away towards a brown she-cat boredly looking at her paws. Treekit grinned at Ghostkit as he saw her approach, and then looked back up at the rock.

“Today, three kits have reached 6 moons. Before we continue, let's take a moment for both these kit's parents, and silence for Gorseheart, the assumed kit's father, and a murder victim.” Ghostkit whispered quietly, “Who is Gorseheart?”

Treekit shrugged and both winced as the got a sharp cuff immediately. “Quiet!” Mapletail hissed, visibly shaken. She seemed to recognize the name with fear. Ghostkit tilted her head in confusion and nearly asked, but the she-cat's bared teeth quickly made her turn around.

The white tom continued, “Ratkit, you will now be known as Ratpaw. Volekit, your name will be known as Volepaw. Bloodkit, you will now be known as Bloodpaw. Ratpaw, your mentor will be Foxrage.”

An orange cat with a white chest trotted up, saying happily, “Hello, Ratpaw!” Ratpaw just scoffed and walked past him. Foxrage tilted his head and followed. “Bloodpaw, your mentor will be Snakefang.”

A sly-looking she-cat walked up and rested her tail on the apprentice's shoulder, purring, “We'll have some fun together.” Bloodpaw took on a grin. “Volepaw, your mentor is Echofur.” A calico she-cat walked up, perked up, and said in a quiet voice, “Hello, Volepaw.”

Volepaw dragged her paws as they walked back down. The tom curled his tail over his paws. “Any news before I dismiss the Clan?” A raggedy golden she-cat walked up, “Excuse me, Icestar,” she said, voice cracked with age.

“Yes?” he asked, “What news do you have Birdice?” She cleared her throat, looking semi-nervous. “I will be retiring to the elder's den. My old bones can't stay up with warrior duties for much more.” she mewed.

Icestar nodded, “ClawClan thanks you for your service, Birdice. May your time as an elder be comfortable.” The she-cat dipped her head and backed away into the crowd. Icestar announced, “If there is nothing else, Clan dismiss-”

He was cut-off by a yowl. The panicked sound came from a dark red she-cat, with light golden eyes, a white belly, and throat. “Icestar! DawnClan is on our land!” Ghostkit turned to Treekit, who had excitement in his eyes.

“The worst Clan of the four!” he whispered and the she-cat continued, “There's at least 1 patrol and Fernstar's at the front. They were marking places with DawnClan scent, I'm confident they aren't here for a chat.”

Icestar's tail twitched and he lept down the rock. “DawnClan must be trying to take back our territory.” he mused before yowling, “But we won't sit here and do nothing!” The Clan cheered with him until he growled for silence.

“Here's the plan. I will take a patrol to attack the patrol Applefur mentioned, and Redflower will take a backup patrol in case they have more. Even if you aren't chosen, stay alert. We don't know how many there are.”

He cleared his throat, “Yellowwhisker, Eaglefeather, Firetooth, Mapletail, and Quailpaw.” Icestar looked at the red she-cat with one white paw on the rock, “Redflower, you choose the others.” He started to walk out, sniffing the air for DawnClan.

Ghostkit pricked her ear as she started to hear a conversation between two of the leaving cats, Firetooth and Quailpaw. Firetooth exclaimed, “How are you feeling? It's your first actual battle!” Quailpaw shuffled his paws and just said, “I'm really nervous.”

The conversation faded and Redflower spoke with a snarky tone, “Ok.” She looked around and said with satisfaction, “Echofur, Shadowheart, Sleekclaw, and Foxrage.” Ghostkit turned her head to hear a click of teeth.

Sleekclaw was still next to Lilyshade, who looked confused. “I'm a queen.” Sleekclaw said, through bared teeth, “Not a warrior.” Redflower than scoffed looking at Treekit and Ghostkit, “Your kits are almost apprentices so your not a true queen.”

She grinned, something not friendly but not cruel either, “We're only backup patrol and besides…” she paused, “You don't want to question the deputy, do you? I could have a word with Icestar and-” Sleekclaw snarled, “Fine!” and walked over to her kits.

She quickly licked them both on the top of the head, “I have to go, warrior duty calls.” Treekit blurted out excitedly, “Will you be fighting DawnClan?” She chuckled, “In a way, I'll just be a backup patrol and hopefully I won't encounter any warriors.”

Ghostkit head-butted Sleekclaw's shoulder, “Please don't go.” she begged, “I don't want you to go!” Sleekclaw just gave her a smile, “I'll be fine. This is what warriors will do some point in there life. I'll be back, I promise.”

“Sleekclaw. Hurry up with your goodbyes.” Redflower snapped, with a hint of sarcasm. She growled and then purred saying, “I'll be back.” before running off. “B-but….” Ghoskit said, feeling completely hopeless and terrified.

She rushed off, and Ghostkit whimpered, and Treekit said, not noticing his sister, “Wow! I can't wait until I'm a warrior!” She said, franticly, “N-no! Why would you want to be a warrior? It's dangerous, it could kill you!”

Treekit rolled his eyes, “Yeah, but that's one of the best parts. Every battle you come out of alive, its proving how strong you are.” He turned around and snarled, “You wouldn't understand, Ghostkit. You're too much a coward and will probably die in your first battle.”

Treekit stalked off, with Ghostkit sitting in the clearing, the good feeling she had before gone. She nearly jumped as she heard a call, “Hey, Ghostkit! Over here!” Ghostkit turned to see Bloodpaw calling her over, Ratpaw already scheming something and Volepaw half-asleep.

She walked over tail dragging. “What's the problem?” Bloodpaw said, grinning, “You look like someone had stolen your prey.” Ratpaw sneered, “Knowing you its probably something ridiculous.” He rolled his eyes.

Volepaw opened an eye sleepily and said, with a drowsy voice, “Leave her alone, Ratpaw…I'm sure it's….” Her eyes drooped back shut, and Bloodpaw flicked her tail, narrowing her eyes at Volepaw. “So what's going on?”

Ghostkit cleared her throat, “Well…Sleekclaw left to fight DawnClan and I'm just scared. Who knows what will happen?” She shuffled her paws and her ears flattened as Bloodpaw let out a harsh laugh.

“You know, you would be a good queen. You're worried about her, she should be worrying about you.” Bloodpaw said, snidely. Ghostkit just growled, “But she isn't supposed to be out. She's still a queen.”

Ratpaw chuckled, “Not for long. Treekit and you should become apprentices soon. She'll return to warrior duties while you're trained.” Ghostkit sighed, and said, “Maybe your right…” Bloodpaw laughed, “Of course we are. We always are.”

Ratpaw growled softly, “So you were right when you decided your last plan by escaping camp?” Bloodpaw opened her mouth snap something but was interrupted by the sudden rush of cats coming back to camp.

They seemed heavily injured. Eaglefeather was limping heavily on a paw, with deep slashes on his flank. Firetooth had one eye swollen shut and was carrying a limp Quailpaw. Mapletail had deep slashes on her shoulder, neck, and slash over her eye.

Echofur and Shadoweheart carried Yellow-whisker on their shoulders, both injured, Echofur having fur missing all over her body and a cut on her neck, Shadowheart having several nicks in his side, with one long scratch down his side.

Redflower came up behind, not looking as injured, but dragging what looked to be a she-cat with brown and white fur. Icestar came in, helping her with only a light scratch against his neck. He looked heartbroken, head hanging and ears limp.

Cats started to come out of their dens and were trying to figure out the result of the battle. He snarled, “Get out of the way!” to some cats who blocked the medicine den. He lept up onto the rock, wincing as he landed heavily.

Icestar yowled, “ClawClan, lend me your ears!” Everyone turned and gathered around the rock, Lacepaw came out of the medicine den, assessing everyone's injuries. Ghostkit looked up at Icestar who was trying to speak but kept having to catch his breath.

Volepaw, who was next to her, whispered, “He's seeming like he's struggling to breathe.” Ghostkit carefully looked at Icestar, who bared his teeth. “I meant to say, t-the DawnClan battle w-was….”

Suddenly, he fell over onto the rock, starting to foam at the mouth and twitching aggressively. Lacepaw noticed and sprinted up, nearly tripping over her own paws. “Mouseleaf!” she yowled and was checking Icestar for something.

He continued to flail until he started to slow down. “That's good he's slowing down, right?” Ghostkit whispered to Volepaw, who shrugged. Lacepaw, however, looked more panicked. Redflower ran up, noticing what was happening.

“What's going on? What's happening to him?!” Redflower insisted, urgently. Lacepaw just swallowed as he fully stopped moving. “He's gone,” she whispered. Redflower nervously laughed, “That's not his last life….”

Lacepaw didn't say anything and Redflower dipped her head, and said very quietly, “You…..” In almost slow-motion, she lunged towards Lacepaw, claws outstretching for her neck.

I would love to take this order (I love reading and reviewing, as you probably already know), but just a quick question: do I need any Warriors-related info for this? If so, I've never read Warriors in the correct order before and never really understood it so I won't be able to take the order.
