Info: Special Election of March 2018
Since an election was due January 1, 2018, and was not performed, an election was due. I decided to hold a President/VP election to democratically introduce a new President. This election's entire process starts now and will conclude on March 27, but the actual election will take place from March 19 to 26. Declaration of candidacy and debating will occur before the election, and a formal inauguration will occur afterwards.

Candidates, as Presidents, must announce their candidacy with a VP pick (or intent to choose one), a speech, and an indication on whether or not they will participate in this weekend's debate. No other positions will be elected. This is due by March 17.

A debate will occur over the weekend, spanning from March 17 to March 18.

The election will be held, with eligible voters being representatives and other USS positions, not including shop members. This will occur from March 19 to March 26.

The President and VP will officially hold their positions on March 27.

The next election will end on June 1, 2018.

I: General questions
What makes you the ideal candidate for the job? I feel that I lost in the previous election and therefore have the most experience
What prior leadership experience have you obtained? Working for at least 7 shops, Running for USS president, SPA
Why should representatives vote for you? I have learned from my loss and know what to fix
Please tell us your slogan and why you picked: it A Vote for Me is a Vote for You, Vote GrahamSH to Help You!
This is because I will work day and night to help YOU

What would you propose to replace the outdated ISOOC program? OOBB The old order bulletin board. you post your order, I put it on the board and people can check the board
What policies would you enact in your first 30 days? A newspaper, weekly activity checks, an activity list
What reform would you push for? I don't know what that means, but I think to make the USS a better place
Would you describe your platform as more pro-individual shop freedom or pro-stronger unity? Pro-stronger unity
How will you increase traffic and membership rates? Advertise advertise advertise

III: Other
Who is you pick for VP and secretary? exxe_
What is your main campaign speech? Will come soon
Why do you wish to lead the USS? I feel that I failed you when I lost in 2017. I'm not gonna let that happen again
Are you in favor of reforming the constitution? Yes
If so, how will you push to reform the constitution? Take out the old laws and make them better

Recap of March 20, 2018

Here's an update on the USS.

I: Temporary President & VP
TimeLordPlanet became temporary President on March 14, 2018. He, five days later, appointed 78ch3 to fill the VP position. Both the current Secretary and Chief Justice remain in their positions.

TLP and 78ch3 will keep their positions until April 9, 2018, when our scheduled extended election is expected to end and the new elected officials are going to replace them two. This election will be spoke of later.

II: Moderator Assignments
Moderators have updated assignments, which can be seen here. They will be continuously updated in accordance with new members of the USS.

III: ISOOC Replacement Search
I disbanded ISOOC, the Inter-Shop Old Order Completions program a while ago. It was outdated and rarely used. If you're running for President, please consider using this as a reason to be elected (suggest a replacement in your speech.)

If you're not running for President, you can still help in the replacement search! Just post ideas here.

IV: USS Guidelines
The first version of the USS Guidelines, a simplified set of rules for members of this group, was released three days ago. It's worth checking out, and you could see it here.

V: “Expect the Following” update
Update on section V of this post.

New to-do list by the end of this month.
Moderator assignment by tomorrow. (POSTPONED)
Another archivist assignment by April 1.

VI: Archivist Assignment
This assignment has went unnoticed. I am officially calling it off.

VII: Representative Changes
Plenty of shops need to update their representative counts, as seen here.

Adjustments are due by April 1, 2018, for your representatives to be eligible for voting in the Special Election.

VIII: Special Election
The Special Election of March 2018 is being postponed. I would have cancelled this as there are technically no valid candidates (none picked a VP), but I am giving candidates until April 1, 2018, to pick a VP. If no candidate picks a VP by then, the election is called off and TLP/78ch3 will keep their positions until June. The name of this special election is now being called the Special Election of April 2018. It was originally Special Election of March 2018.

The Basics
I am going to start a special thing called “The Basics”, which will be at the end of each update post of this kind. It'll essentially put deadlines and special dates here.

March 21, 2018: Moderators will receive an assignment.
April 1, 2018: Archivists should receive another assignment by now. Candidates must have a VP by this date. The election begins this day. Representative adjustments due.
April 8, 2018: Election voting ends.
April 9, 2018: The new President/VP will replace TLP/78ch3.
June 1, 2018: Future election ends.
July 1, 2018: USS BASE occurs.
November 1, 2018: USS BASE occurs.
