I have a crazy idea for a boss - a boss that attacks so fast that you cannot stop blocking them to fight back. The way you'd win is by dodging some attacks and reflecting others at the boss.
Or something like that.
Or something like that.

I dont know what to do
You can draw tiles for the cave area, and maybe a battleground for the cave as well. Make it have a blue glow kind of effect on the tiles.

bumpSomething I slapped together in five seconds. Working on tying in a cave song leitmotif.I can work on music if needed. It just will take me a bit longer than others due to my schedule and my lack of skill.
Edit: Added two more sections with a more active melody and bass including a call and response between the melody and accompaniment (together), and the grey line (idk what that is and I don't want to label it ‘percussion’ without knowing lol)

Sounds like my cave song I tried originally, but much more dark and creepy sounding.opinions or edits on this?bumpSomething I slapped together in five seconds. Yep. It intentionally does - the first four sections have a leitmotif (similar fragment) to the original Cave Song, found in the upper blue line. The yellow, red, and grey lines were all written by me by hand with no reference to the original.Sounds like my cave song I tried originally, but much more dark and creepy sounding.opinions or edits on this?bumpSomething I slapped together in five seconds. also, you know what also makes use of a ton of leitmotifs of its own pieces? Undertale. Take literally anything on the OST and it probably has either a leitmotif in it or is a leitmotif in another track. But I figured it's a musically common thing and it's been done by MANY games before it (more than the bullethell dodging AND multipath stuffs combined, I'd say) so I'd think that's cool

yeah, although if we're going for a chiptune OST (Which also has the advantage of being very compact) we can't use violins. to make eerie sounds use violins

which is exactly what is used as the accompaniment for the melody in the above piece. You are nonstop bombarded by a bassline and lower-pitched accompaniment that follows and emphasizes the main melody while also providing a very serious tone. You can use long, stretched-out low-pitched noisesyeah, although if we're going for a chiptune OST (Which also has the advantage of being very compact) we can't use violins. to make eerie sounds use violins
and then the call and response between the higher pitched stuff and the ‘percussion’ was just thrown in for fun.
