Honestly, a cutscene is a really bad way to inform the player of a backstory. It just screams ‘didn’t have the time to make a cohesive and interesting plot'I guess some backstory?what would you even use a cutscene for?I mean, we can have cutscenes if NEEDED. But it'll be difficult to animate with 16-bit graphics completely, wouldn't it? Oh well, if we can do it, I say we should include them; but not make them too complicated.Depends how awesome u want the game to be. A game can just have the gameplay without a main menu or creditsare cutscenes even necessary? can cutscenes and main menu be in vector

Well I said in comic form not animated for the intro xDI mean, we can have cutscenes if NEEDED. But it'll be difficult to animate with 16-bit graphics completely, wouldn't it? Oh well, if we can do it, I say we should include them; but not make them too complicated.Depends how awesome u want the game to be. heres an example of a cutscene in a hypothetical situation: in gameplay the player does his/her final blow to the boss. Then cutscene happens. Cutscene makes a game into a more theatrical experience.

I kind of agree with TheCoolCreeper. The story should be more revealed throughout the game, and not through a cutscene. Kind of like how The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild does things with how it reveals the backstory; it doesn't show any of it, and most of it is gathered through character dialogue.

sure but that requires op thinking and building skills I kind of agree with TheCoolCreeper. The story should be more revealed throughout the game, and not through a cutscene. Hey, everyone on this collaboration is aiming high for their goals. If you don't try hard, then you won't do great things. So if you're motivated enough, try your hand at it. Who knows? You may even succeed. You'll never know unless you try. I guess that makes me a hypocrite, though.its hard for it to happen. What guys think about this prologue
Prologue
Notice: Puzzles are not required to complete to beat the game.
Setting: Cave
Core objective: Explore cave and learn the game and story/facts
Gameplay: Player wakes up inside a cave. Puzzle 1-1- Unlocks/obtain unique/extra stuff hidden hallway to room Player finds a part of asteroid (core). Player interacts with it then player went to a parallel universe (this will be “told” at the end of game )
sign 1: WASD to move
Etc.
