just make sure you know the general idea of the plot so far.
just know that the crystals will give u power

question: are you guys ok doing different endings xD aka actions and story will be tailored by how you play and they would be effected by choices you make

Okay, let me recap. So, a bunch of crystals (we need an idea on where they came from *hint hint*) are placed across the world, and they have a certain ability. Things like technology and building, things like that were built off of the powers these crystals gave. Over time, the crystals grew stronger, untill the abilities became harmful to the surrounding area. Your goal is to destroy all of them. That's about all we got

I like the idea of different endings.

History of the the crystals

Cutscene (doesn't have to be animated just like comic strips):
There was an asteroid hurtling down to Earth. Most asteroids would be disintegrated in atmosphere before touching down but this made it through in one piece. Pieces broke off of the asteroid were scattered. People were accustomed to these crystal which gave technological advantges that no one wouldn't able to create. Later they were deemed so powerful that their abilities became harmful. With bunch of failures to destroy these crystals, it's up to you to destroy them and save the world.

Does it have to be Earth? I was thinking more of just using our own made-up locations, kind of like an alternate universe with different rules, etc.

I mean, we were kind of going for that already, but if we want we can have different races, different locations, crazy universe rules, etc; but still keep aspects of Earth like grass, trees, water, and all that stuff.

Also do you like what I added into my signature?

Instead of a cutscene explaining the entire thing, we could sprinkle information throughout the game, and leave it up to the player to interpret it.

All pixel art, we need a “theme” for the art style and we're sticking with it. I think 16-bit works.

Even though I'm following this discussion, I don't really think that anyone on the project really needs me to get anything done hence why I didn't actually “join.” However, I do know one really good scripter that can potentially contribute a lot. Is it okay if I recommend him?
sure
Honestly, I was asking for the person who approved people for joining, but fine. The Scratcher I recommend is @saodtheking . For now, I would just say to look at his projects and then decide if you want to ask him to join you.

Depends how awesome u want the game to be. A game can just have the gameplay without a main menu or credits

I mean, we can have cutscenes if NEEDED. But it'll be difficult to animate with 16-bit graphics completely, wouldn't it? Oh well, if we can do it, I say we should include them; but not make them too complicated.
