Hmm, I don't see why it would, I mean, JusticeScratcher would be acting on his own, so they'd simply count him out of the Justice dept. for the endurance of the case.Yeah. It was just an idea/check if anyone agrees!
And an inactive Justice is no justice at all, Austin basically fired Amatuerscratcher by skipping over her and choosing MTBH.Well, actually I just removed Amateurscratcher because she appears to be very inactive (sorry.)
I wouldn't do so since that's out of the power of the Executive (formerly Head) Department, but since the positions were restructured, I just kicked her out, making MakeTheBrainHappy the sole member of the Judicial Department.

Okay, so, I wrote up a proposal for Lawyers in the USS, and I finished! Here it is!I support both points, but I might use a Google account to post propositions. (I'll likely do.)
Now that you've proposed that proposition, we shall vote on it!
I'll contact jromagnoli once again to check if he's ready to host it, and if he's not, I'll do so.
(There used to be a rule where a proposition requires two other representatives to approve it first before it's voted upon, but I indirectly removed that in the restructure.)

I can't instantly reject propositions, although I can vote against it as a standard vote (since I'm a representative for a shop and a subsidiary - which is just 2/the former 50+ votes.)Ah, I was talking about before the recent reformations, where it seemed like you were basically this superpower with the ability to basically do anything, USS-wise. Not that you would have, it was simply the concept that you could have.
The Head Department may pass automatic laws, but I've only used it for non-controversial uses.Wait, even the Secretary can? Because from what I read, it seemed to me that only the Co-Owners and (Acting) President could.If I plan on changing a position in a way that may be deemed unnecessary, I just make it a voting proposition (i.e. the cancelled Constitution reform proposition.)
Once again, it wasn't what you would do, but what you could do that seemed somewhat OP.

Okay, so, I wrote up a proposal for Lawyers in the USS, and I finished! Here it is!I agree on the first point, however I think I would rather the second point be simply a strong suggestion, instead of a requirement, as it might scare away those who don't have scratch or gaming google accounts but still want to post a proposition; and some people('s parents) don't like (their kids) using off-site links. Also, the ST doesn't like users linking to sites with unmoderated chat.
Those who strive above all else to be rich in worldly goods are often trying to hide their spiritual poverty.

Proposal A: A Better Legal System

Proposal A: Lawyers in the USS
In the USS, we have a legal system whereby we have a selection of Justices who preside over cases where people represent themselves. Although this seems correct, did you know the only court in the US Justice System that uses this system is Animal Court, AKA Kitty court? Although I have nothing against Animal Court, I do think that it’s not a good system., because it singles out individuals for their legal ability.
So I would like to propose a new system. We appoint 25 lawyers to choose from, and when a shop wishes to oppose the USS or vice versa. Lawyers can accept or decline to represent this person (henceforth known as THE CLIENT). If they choose to represent this client and the other side has chosen a lawyer, then the case begins.
The case will begin at a time scheduled in UTC by all the participants, including the justice. Hearings are a pre-agreed length of time. Only three hearings may be scheduled, at least 12 hours apart (this is identical to the old policy). If hearings run out, a mistrial is declared and a new case scheduled. Two mistrials give an automatic win to the defence. A case started because of a previous mistrial must be treated like any other, except it has one mistrial appended to it. A new justice can be appointed for a mistrial case.
This system is based on the US Legal System so far as I can discern from John Grisham’s Theodore Boone series.
Proposal B: Proposal Sharing Policies
Although this sounds meta (and sort of is), think about it. The recent post made by Austintino detailing the new USS Governmental system was super long, and clogged up that page of USS proceedings. With my new proposal in place, the USS will never have posts like that again.
My proposal is: Instead of posting proposals, new laws, etc, type them up in a word processor, (Word, LibreOffice, Pages, whatever) upload them to your cloud storage service (Google Drive, OneDrive, Dropbox, etc). Then, make them shareable by link and link the proposal on the USS thread. In this way, we avoid long winded posts and still allow people to share their thoughts for as long as they want. I am in fact demonstrating this proposal with this document.

Also, with the members list found here, it's really long and I feel it's leaning towards the first shops listed (people wouldn't likely scroll down to the bottom, reducing the amount of select shop traffic.)
I was thinking about changing that list to one of the following:
A. Separate Pages
This is a simple implementation, at that post, at the top, there can be links to different posts that contain 5-10 shops on them. However, people may not notice this and just look at the first page.
B. Square Logos
This is an example of what I was thinking of (from my signature - thanks ZLGames for making this possible.) Instead of whole-line banners, the members list can have square-ish logos that can fit numerous into one line, removing other information about the shops (representatives, specialties, and population counts.) This is something I kind of want to avoid.
(In case, we can save population counts, representatives, etc. in other posts/locations.)
I was thinking about changing that list to one of the following:

Wait, even the Secretary can? Because from what I read, it seemed to me that only the Co-Owners and (Acting) President could.Originally, only the VP (and up - President and Owners) can pass automatic legislation, but I modified that to give the Secretary a little bit more power. I still strongly encourage the Secretary to avoid using it excessively.
Once again, it wasn't what you would do, but what you could do that seemed somewhat OP.

I'm currently working on correcting the representative list for the votes, as shops have only two representatives now.

At the bottom is abbreviations for shops, possibly serving a purpose in the future. They can be only four letters (no less or more), and right now only one contains a number (which I may ban in the future for abbreviations.)
Also, there are numerous vacancies, but they cannot be filled for the vote anymore.
