Swords of Wrath Ideas, Storylines and Creativity
In Swords of Wrath, any NPC may speak. Here are some words they may say when you press space to hear their words. By the way, let me add a new NPC: The child. Children basically walk around and may say things but do nothing.
Common Villager:
-“A mighty fine day, isn't it?”
-“They stole my chicken!”
-“Sometimes I wonder if it's all too perfect to be in this town/city.”
-“…? What do you want?”
-“The kingdom is corrupt! Corrupt, I tell you! We need reform! Protests! Revolution!”
-“What lies outside the border?”
-“Greetings.”
Child:
-“Mommy told me not to talk to strangers!”
-"Wow! A ! want to be like you someday!“
-”I'm lost…“
-”Will you play with me?“ In which you can say yes or no too. Saying yes causes the kid to say ”Yay!“ and you enter a little playing session with a kid, where you throw around a ball or something (no competition or anything), and then after that the kid says ”Thanks for playing with me!“ And your reputation is boosted. Saying no causes the child to say ”Awww…“ But does nothing to your reputation.
-”La la la la la la la la la la la la!“
Farmer:
When talked to, the farmer always asks if they need produce. (”Hey there. You need any produce? I got lots.“) You can say yes or no. If yes, a pop-up appears and you can trade or buy food. After you trade or buy food, the farmer says, ”Thank you.“ If no, the farmer says, ”Alright. See you around!“
Blacksmith:
When talked to, the Blacksmith always says, ”You need something?“ And a pop-up appears in which you can buy weapons/tools and choose weapons/tools from your inventory to fix for a price. Once you have bought something, the blacksmith says, ”Thanks.“ If not, the blacksmith says, ”Okay, be off with you now.“
Doctor: When confronted, the doctor always asks, ”Greetings, are you in need of healing?“ If yes, a pop-up appears in which you can get healed for a price and buy potions for healing. After that, the doctor says, ”Stay safe!“ If not, the doctor says the same thing. Sometimes the doctor may chat, and you are given a set of text boxes. Click one, and the doctor answers.
Merchant: The merchant will always say, ”Hello there, fine traveler! Please take a look at some items I have!“ If you say yes to the offer, then a pop-up appears in which you can buy, trade, and sell items. If not, the merchant says, ”Goodbye!“ Merchants also chat.
Knight: When confronted, the knight says, ”Greetings. Are you in need of assistance?“ In which three choices appear, one is labeled ”Battle Advice“, the second is labeled ”Training“, another is labeled ”No Thanks.' If “Battle Advice” is chosen, the knight gives battle advice. If “Training” is chosen, you pay a certain price and the screen blacks out for a moment and the knight will give you a training session, which increases your battle experience. If “No Thanks” is chosen, the knight says, “Farewell.”
Shopkeeper: The shopkeeper is found in shops, and when confronted will say, “Hello there! May I help you?” If you respond yes, a pop-up appears and you can buy items. If you respond no, the shopkeeper says,“Feel free to look around!” A shopkeeper occasionally may buy items from you or chat.
Hunter: The Hunter will ask, “I have hunting gear and harvests. Care to buy?” If yes, a pop-up appears in which you can buy meats, furs, and weapons. If not, the hunter says, “Off you go.”
King/Queen: If you are lucky enough to enter a castle, when you encounter the King and/or Queen, what they say depends on your reputation. If it is high, then they say, "Oh! Why isn't it ! I heard great things about you.“ Then, they either say, ”I don't have much for you to do at the moment, but you are always welcome at my court!“ ”I have a task for you, if you would please carry it out for me. “ If you say yes, the king/queen says, ”Wonderful!“ and you are sent on the mission. If you return successful, the king/queen says, ”So you have finished my task? Fantastic! I owe you a gift!“ And you receive a gift, probably a rare item or enchanted treasure, and your reputation is increased. If you aren't successful, the king/queen says, ”Hmm? You haven't finished the quest? What a shame. Go on, now.“ And your reputation goes down. If you deny the quest in the first place, they say, ”No? Off with you, then!“ If your reputation is average, they say, ”What brings you to my court?“ If you have a low reputation, they say, ”I know you! You are . I don't want anything to do with you. Out!“ And you are transferred out of the castle.
Dwarf King/Chief: Similar to the King/Queen, if your reputation is high, he says, ”Ahh, .“ He may say, ”I have something for you to do. Will you please?“ If yes, he says, ”Thank you.“ If you return successful, he says, ”Many thanks to you!“ And gifts you with element crystals or some kind of treasure. If not, he says, ”Oh.“ Your reputation does not go down, however. Or, he may say nothing at all.
Elf King/Chief: Same as the Dwarf King/Chief, except if you return successful, it says, ”Thank you, ! Such good deeds deserve good magic.“ And you are gifted with some simple magic. How that works is you either receive a magic item, or you get simple magic powers for a limited amount of time.
Sorcerer: Sorcerer's are on the less busy corners of towns and cities. Bump into one, and it says, ”Are you in need of something?“ If yes, a pop-up appears in which, for a price, the sorcerer can enchant an item, gift you with spells which you can cast anytime you like but with a limited usage, and sell potions and magic items. If no, the sorcerer says, ”I suppose not.“
Beggar: The beggar may say:
”Money, please!“
”H…h-hungry…“
”Would you be so kind to a poor man?“
”Anything helps…“
You can choose to give money or food to a beggar. If you do, the beggar says, ”Oh, thank you so much!“ And your reputation is increased.
Sage: A sage may say:
”…“
”*murmer, murmer*“
or, depending on your actions throughout gameplay, might give you very important advice, hidden things in the game, give extremely rare items, etc.
Undead: The Undead…don't really say things. Common Undead may utter nonsense such as ”hdfiHsOoKhf“.
Dark King/Lord: When confronted, the Dark King/Lord says, ”A ! Have you come to destroy me?! Foolish decision! You will NEVER defeat me!“ And you go into the ultimate boss battle. If you fail, you respawn outside of the Dark Realm and you have to start over. If you win, the Dark Knight/Lord screams, ”NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!" And dies.

This is great but remember some sort of epic final boss fight won't work as this game is multi player. Dark King/Lord: When confronted, the Dark King/Lord says, "A !

Like, has anyone created a store menu/trading system, with a money variable. For instance
ask [would you like any thing today] and wait
if <(answer) = [yes]> then
define open shop
end

wow that came out way weird. I've never used those in the forum before. Like, has anyone created a store menu/trading system, with a money variable. For instanceask [would you like any thing today] and waitif <(answer) = [yes]> then

Anyway, if the player has enough money, they can buy items. Has anyone actually coded that yet?

Weapons
Weapons have four ranks:
-Common
-Uncommon
-Rare
-Extremely Rare
Common weapons can be bought from a blacksmith, bought from a store, bought from a hunter, or traded from a merchant. Uncommon weapons can also be bought from a blacksmith, bought from a store, or traded from a merchant. Rare weapons can be gifted by a king/queen, or bought from a store. Extremely Rare weapons can be gifted by a king/queen or gifted by a sage. All weapons except Extremely Rare weapons can be fixed by a blacksmith (the price for fixing rises with each higher rank). If the usage of an Extremely Rare weapon runs out though, it is irreplaceable.
Usage of a Weapon:
Weapons have a limited usage. I'm thinking there could be usage points for every weapon. When the usage runs out, you can't use the weapon, unless you go to a blacksmith to have it fixed. If not, you can dispose of it.
