What?
The Gobo Awards is a new awards program created on November 29, 2016, by Scratchers Austinato and QuantumSingularity in hopes of properly accrediting popular and growing Scratchers for their active efforts in the community and for their amazing projects, studios, or shops.

QuantumSingularity officially left Scratch on April 28, 2017, facing a strong impact on this collaboration. As a result, the voting process has been altered to accommodate the change. We thank them for their contribution.

Our number one policy here is NO unfriendly rivalries or bitterness about awards. Breaking this policy may result in revokement of your award(s.)

Who?
The Gobo Awards will be officially awarded by the Gobo Committee, sometime at the beginning of the month - before the 10th but sometimes that may be slightly inaccurate. The Gobo Committee also selects two Scratchers per category for which will be placed in the votes which are voted upon any Scratcher.

Do note that the vote is done using cloud variables, meaning only Scratchers may vote. We also refuse to use third-party programs, software, or websites to host our votes for legitimacy and simplicity.

When?
Votes (last week of the month) and awards (first week of next month). Standard awards are given once per month and HOF inductions are given once every two months excluding May (May, June, August, etc.) Shop awards are also given bi-annually (every six months - January/July.)

SCHEDULE
The following schedule is in question.
May 24-31, 2017 | Voting for May
June 1-4, 2017 | Awards for May

How?
This is the complete induction/awarding process:

1. Candidates are located by the scouts
2. Candidates are narrowed down to two by the Gobo Committee.
3. Voting system opens to public.
-The voting system will be a Y N H scenario where the people of Scratch vote Y or N for candidate #1. If Candidate #1 loses, Candidate #2 wins, etc.
4. The winner is officially announced, votes are reset, winners are awarded, and cycle repeats.

Where?
We previously offered a cheat-free voting project that was hosted by QuantumSingularity, in which out of two choices, you choose a nominee for each category. After their departure, there is no official cheat-free voting project available. That is currently under debate.

The Gobo Committee:

The Gobo Committee is the group that picks, chooses, and decides on the monthly winners of The Gobo Awards. Following this is a list of job descriptions.

The Secretary: The secretary will assist the Manager and Founder in anything and everything required to keep the Gobo Awards running. He/she may answer questions, compile a list of nominees, etc.

The Head Scout: The Head Scout is in charge of all of the Minor Scouts (see below), and reports all findings to the manager/secretary. He/she will ensure that all scouts are active unless they need to take a break (if so, they should tell the Head Scout this). This shouldn't take too much work, as they should only be notified if they are really inactive.

Minor Scouts: Your goal is to search out nominees for The Gobo Awards. The Main Post (above) describes who and what you should be looking out for. Post nominees on this thread, and they will be added to our candidates list.

The People of Scratch: You too can be a part of this! Submit your vote on our voting projects found in this studio! Nominate a Scratcher, Project, etc. by filling out the (above) form!

1: The Annual Gobo Award (The Most Outstanding Scratcher)
2: The Runner Up Pico Award (2nd Most Outstanding Scratcher)
3: 3rd Place, the Scratch Jr. Award (Most Outstanding Recent Scratcher (recently a former New Scratcher))

Yes, the winner would be named the ‘winner’ and the loser as the ‘runner up’ or ‘nominated.’
