(scene fades from black to show SONIC laying in his bed.)

An alarm goes off. SONIC gropes around and silences the alarm clock. He glances at his calendar. The calendar shows a bunch of Xs up to February 14th. Inside the box is some half-legible handwriting that reads “Valentine's Day”.

SONIC: “Really, already?” <– exhausted

SONIC yawns.

SONIC: “Guess I'll just watch TV or something.” <– mumbling

(camera cuts to Sonic heading down a set of stairs.)

Suddenly, somebody knocks on SONIC's door. SONIC opens it. The door opens to show TAILS standing there.

SONIC: “Hey, Tails, what's up?” <– almost snapping from being practically half asleep to fully conscious

TAILS: “Apparently it's Valentine's Day.”

SONIC: “Yeah, so?”

TAILS: “That's the part I'm still figuring out.”

SONIC: “Same here.”

(camera cuts to Sonic and Tails walking down the sidewalk)

TAILS: “So what's up?”

SONIC: “Not much. I'm sure you have much more of an interesting life than I do.” <– casually

TAILS: “Well, I am working on the world's smallest floppy disk-”

SONIC: “What's a floppy disk?”

TAILS gives SONIC a look that says “Seriously?”

TAILS: “The save button on Microsoft Word.”
