How are cloud variables going scratch team?

visible
Someone needs to find it in the code, and find how to enable it.

I don't like the idea of replacing the paint bucket with a paint brush. The fill bucket icon is well known throughout all applications.
I agree.

I Doubly Agree. This Is An Outrage!

Here's the reasoning for this to consider… There will soon be the option of using bitmap tools or vector tools. Vector paint fill works differently from bitmap paint fill. Therefore, it seems good to make them look different. Thus the plan is for the familiar paint bucket to be in the bitmap tools and act as it did in 1.4, the dripping paint brush is a vector tool for filling vector shapes. Does that make sense?

I can't erase and it's getting really annoying because i cant finish what I'm doing right now.
Why take the eraser away?!?!? I even tried to use the pencil with no color and it still didn't work!

No problem with that on my computer, using IE. Not sure what version.

I'm using Chrome and everything looks fine. Not sure what the problem is there.

Hi Camstah, the vector eraser can only erase lines and not filled color – do you still think it would be good to include?

Somebody better close this. It's a month old news and users are now asking about cloud data rather than the original discussion of this topic.

Please give us our eraser! The vector editor is way to complicated as it is!!! No offense please.

Because unless you imported an svg ( no-one really does ) you can't erase the image anyways

Pondering what to work on.

Could You Add A “Delete All Messages” Button?

Well, I don't know about you, but I really have no problem with having all my messages in 2.0. They're all sorted, and they all automatically go to the top of the page

I guess there's no harm in having it anyway, Natalie. For those who believe it is necessary, I think we should include the eraser. After all, there's nothing to lose so might as well have it if some people require it.

To add to what Natalie said…

There's a new way to do what the vector eraser used to do, which is to cut through a stroke.

Select the line with the “reshape” tool (second tool down from the top), then shift-click on the node (little circle) where you want to cut the stroke. You might need to delete several nodes to make a larger hole. This is exactly what the eraser tool used to do.

When it comes to vector editing, the reshape tool is your friend. :-)

If you cut the border of a shape that was filled with a color, the fill will disappear (as if all the color leaked out through the hole :-)). If that's not what you wanted, you can re-close the shape by dragging the node at the end of the line over the first node in the line, then re-filling with the color fill tool (the bottom tool). Or you could just undo, of course.

The new bitmap editor will have an eraser tool that works the way it does in Scratch 1.4. If that's what you want, please be patient; we're working on it as fast as we can…

There will be a bitmap eraser tool, which is what you want for cleaning up around an image. You should be able to give it a try in a week or two.

The eraser tool that was removed was the vector editor eraser - which just breaks a vector path into multiple pieces - it would not be any help in cleaning up an image. You can still break a vector path but the functionality is now in the reshape tool - shift click on a node to break the path..
